Rosalia reveals that she designed sneakers for Nike which will be released soon. They are inspired by ''espardeñas'', which are traditional Catalan shoes.

Those are ugly. I could believe she designed those, I was about to come out saying she curated those. They look really cheap btw, hope they're not over $100

not that spelling :rip:

anyways, I don't know how to feel about that. I feel like this is profiting off of our culture and even though she's part of it, it still feels kind of wrong to me.

I have mixed feelings too, but anything that puts Catalunya on the map is great news (I guess :vegas:)

I agree, but exactly for this reason, if she as a fashion trendsetter saw many peopole were interested in these shoes, she could have done them with a local brand, instead of nike. Also I feel like Rosalia this would make more sense if she was doing other things to put our culture on the map, which I hope she starts doing from now on

Couldn't agree more with you, but I am just happy she had a successful song in catalan and now, even if Nike is in charge, lots of people will get to know what an espardenya is (d*mn, even myself being catalan too, I didn't know where Sant Esteve Sesrovires was before knowing her :icega:)

me too but we need more than one  I totally understand that her goal was to be a global popstar and that you can't be one singing in catalan and unlike other people I agree that her job is to be an artist, which she is amazing at, not being a language activist.

ok but espardeñas have been reinterpreted by fast fashion long time ago, they're pretty much what we know as espadrilles, hers are cute too, I'm just glad she's getting out there, I really like her and I love the way she's sharing her culture around the globe
