However I do think she has stagnated musically. She either does EDM songs with DJ’s or follows the Revival/Rare sound. I’m not dragging her cause I do like Selena and some of her music, but she hasn’t elevated or pushed herself out of those two sounds in the past few years. I might get dragged for saying this but Selena Gomez's music feels the "freshest" out of all the pop girls. I feel like she has her finger on the pulse more so than anyone else. None of her music is revolutionary by any means but it always feels "current" if that makes sense. Maybe she's just good at picking producers or something. I agree, people complain that she makes generic bops, but she makes bops, she knows her way around a pop song and she’s known how to keep herself relevant and sounding fresh 24/7.
