I have a tradition to only buy an album on CD (unless it's Gaga) if it's complete gold (mostly so I have a copy of it physically, I try to only buy digital media if there is no other option) and I am really tempted to buy COTCC on CD...cause wow. Honestly shook.

Edit: I may even buy the vinyl cause it feels like one of those albums which fits being on vinyl.

Chromatica will live on forever.

I just bought it on vinyl, I feel like it's a must!

Lana once again proves her greatness. The feeling is amazing. This is healing my soul.

I think it would be hard for any album to follow up NFR, but Chemtrails is really good! Some of the songs do sound kinda like, ok, they’re there :bear: but the highs on this album are great. White Dress, Dark But Just a Game, Dance Till We Die and my favorite so far.

I just finished listening to the whole thing and I think the only song I’ll ever listen to again is Chemtrails. I liked the lead single when it came out and I see why it was the lead cause it’s the only good one. I’ve been a huge Lana fan up to now, seen her in concert 4 times, but what a snoozefest. I want some versatility Lana! :neyde:

I just have to clarify, because I’m sick of seeing people say this- let me love you like a woman was not a single, chemtrails is the lead single from this album :)

Just got the vinyl of this... thought it would probably fit well with the mood of the album. And it really does.

Really feels like she's making the music that SHE really wants to make... and that's how it should be.

TJF, WAH, COCC, LMLYLW, DBJAG = perfection :kara:

I thought this would be a stronger album because of the 11 tracks and the fact that she announced it pretty much the same week NFR was released so I thought she was excited about the new material.

The album is good but not really my favorite. Listening to NFR for the first time was like masterpiece after masterpiece after masterpiece that I couldn't even come up with a Top 5 because I loved them all except for maybe Bartender but still, was a long album with all good songs. I think the only ones I liked here were Yosemite, For Free and Dark But Just A Game, maybe I'll give it another listen later when I'm in a Lana mood.

The Fame

Finally listened to it...and I have to say the album as a whole is mediocre upon first listen, which is sad 'cuz I love Lana and WANT to like it. Nothing is really terrible, but nothing really grabs me. The first half was stronger than the back half, but doesn't contain any songs that REALLY grab me, like NFR did (using last album as an example). Normally she has like...these big orchestral swells or perfectly timed pauses against powerful, dark lyrics, and I kinda feel like the entire thing muddles along in the same note/tone??

This is also a nitpick: Yosemite kinda disappointed me because it has nothing to do with Yosemite? Her songs always tie into their titles. I thought it was going to be about some kind of love in yosemite or the freedom of the Pacific Northwest...it might as well have been called "Help Me the Aliens Are Attacking' because it had nothing to do with its title lmao. This is totally just a me thing though.

I'm hoping it grows on me!

I can never decide if Honeymoon or NFR is my #1 album by her. I love the aesthetic and cohesiveness of Honeymoon. Plus, it features one of my all time favorite songs (Terrence). On the contrary, NFR is my favorite sound of hers and provides enough diverse sounds (ballads like NFR and Love Song, up beat like FIILY and Doin' Time, cinematic moments like The Greatest, California).

With all this being said, COCC reminds me of a folksy cousin to NFR. Which, after many listens all day, is creeping its way into a new debate - Honeymoon, NFR, or COCC? I will never be able to decide.

Wild at Heart is AMAZING. I love the sample from How to Disappear. Also, the opening chords remind me a little bit of Mariners?? Wild at Heart had me crying upon first listen, especially when the bridge swells to that  beautiful sound.

Also, major fan of Dark But Just a Game, Yosemite, and Dance Till We Die.

Although I do really enjoy this album, I have learned that it is one of the rare albums that have been released recently that I just do not care about binge watching reaction videos to.

I think because sonically it’s mostly adult contemporary music. I personally like both of those sides but I also was a huge fan of lust for life and don’t understand people who dislike it. Probably dislike more trap and rap sounding music?

People mostly dislike it because it’s a bit all over the place and it sounds like the least put together of her work. Especially the second half is pretty inconsistent and has a very weird flow. An album that could have been shorter
