“I’m not going to resign because of allegations,” [Cuomo] told reporters on a conference call. “The premise of resigning because of allegations is actually antidemocratic. We’ve always done the exact opposite — the system is based on due process and the credibility of the allegations.”

Then resign for lying about the nursing homes.

Didn't he ask others to resign?

Apparently he once tried pressuring his current lt. governor to drop out of her primary race, which she went on to win. And now she could take his job. You can’t tell me that wouldn’t be karma. :ladyhaha:

"Will Andrew Cuomo get to keep his Emmy?" :air: Everything about that headline reminds me we're in f***ing Bizarro Politics World now, truly the weirdest timeline

(On another note, Today I Learned -- "Losing the Founders Award amid controversy is not without precedent. Actor Kevin Spacey was stripped of the honor in 2017 after being accused of trying to seduce actor Anthony Rapp.")

It's so wild to go from one thread where people say Dems should play dirty like Republicans do to one where people say this stuff :poot:

OT: I'm not entirely caught up in the Cuomo drama but if he's a POS then boot him or make him quit :laughga:

We really need better quality control on American politicians

He does have a point. I hate to say it. If he is actually innocent (I know to always listen to the victims) it would be strange to just immediately resign because someone accused you of a crime you didn’t commit. Once he’s proven guilty he’ll just look like even more of a sleeze ball for lying when the victims came forward. Making this kind of statement about not resigning now is the strange part IMO.
