That's interesting, because I've read something about the Disney point, which seems a tradition in the theme parks. I don't really know anything about it, but from pictures I saw, they point with two fingers, but they do it with their middle finger and index finger:

I don't know, maybe it's something else. Disney likes pointing with multiple fingers I gues.

Interesting.  I know pointing with the index and little finger is common with Disney.  I like the explanation by the person who pointed at me at artRAVE.  It's more polite than pointing with just the index finger, and he meant it as a very positive gesture which I was very happy to receive.  I meet so many nice people at the concerts I attend.

I live outside the space time continuum.

These reused animation was done at the time because Walt Disney had recently passed away and this reusing was cheaper. They mostly did it in Robin Hood.

I came to say what was said above. Animation is really expensive, especially drawing frame after frame. They used to re-use animation so they would just edit it. Plus, they move their hands and fingers around a lot in old animation so it didn’t seem as still.

Maybe the first movies used it, and then the animators from the movies after thought it was cool and original to have characters make these hand gestures instead of just having normal flat hands, and re-used it. I don't know if they re-used the whole animation itself, I would have to see the videos for that. I don't think it would be easier to animate hands that way though, just drawing hands this way seems difficult compared to drawing hands with all fingers spread out?
