Bonkers 15,575 Posted March 2 (edited) If Bernie can get it done in the covid bill, he deserves a lot of credit. I'm just not of the belief that it's now or never, because even in the covid version, it's still years to phase it in. Everything else in the covid bill has such huge support with the public (80%+) that not passing it really makes Republicans look bad. Living wage support is somewhere around 60% - so there's still a mandate for it, but it's the one part of the bill that Republicans are using to defend their opposition to the thing. But again, I hope Bernie can do it, I just don't think it's worth delaying the package because living wage legislation can be done separately or as part of something else.
