Should I be surprised to see this site is riddled with people defending predatory behavior? I think it’s deadass FRIGHTENING how people there are this many people defending James Charles FOR SENDING A 16 AND 14 YEAR OLD NUDES. Also, for all you saying “No one ever asks for ID”, that’s simply not true. I’m 21 (The same age as James) and have given my ID as well as asked for an ID at various hookups several times!! As an ADULT you should be proactive AND respectful enough to have the bare minimum decency to see someone who looks rather young and think “Is this person capable of consenting?” Because that in my opinion is just basic human decency.  
 

For context, I had been taken advantage of at 17 by a rather wealthy man who was totally fine with me being underage and it f***ed me up to an extent I’m still working on. It genuinely bothers me that some of you are villanizing a literal child in this situation and not remotely holding an adult accountable no matter how much power, money, and fame he can abuse to get his way.

Anyways, in the eyes of the law in every single state, everyone is personally responsible for making sure every person they have a sexual relationship with not a minor. Even if a minor lies to you, it’s your fault if you have sex with them and they’re underage. So, if a person looks like they could be underage or says they’re 18, you ask to see a damn ID!

Ive both provided and requested ID for hookups bc I’m not a predator. It’s literally so easy to not be a predator. 
 

Also... who wouldn’t feel comfortable sharing their ID with someone they’re about to hookup with? You trust your trade with your booty hole but not enough to know your birthdate and middle name?! Lmao...

I work in a men’s prison and have done night shifts on the sex offender wing recently (They are kept separate from other prisoners as they are 'high risk' to assault. I can assure you, many people are in here for just that. 3 months minimum. It is inciting sex with a minor and if he has the pictures he is in possession of child ****ography. - Usually there is evidence of a very obvious arranging to meet for sex and they would explicitly have had to tell them their age so it isnt QUITE prison level stuff, but its bad.

Actually no.

It is the adult's responsibility to verify age. It's not the minor's responsibility to say the correct age. It's why supermarkets card for alcohol and cigarettes. If you're going to send, and receive núdes and you had to ask the person how old he was because he looked so young, you should also ask for ID. 

The law is written that way for a reason because a minor doesn't fully grasp the consequences of their actions. It's why they can't sign contracts or even open credit cards. 

It's extremely predatory to ask for an age because the person looks so young and then just be like, "oh well they said they were 18." 

Sorry but the more times I go over James's statement, the more I cringe and I like James.
