Not true. Harris could overrule the parliamentarian, the GOP would appeal her ruling, and then they would need 60 votes to overrule her. Which they don't have.

The Dems could also just fire and replace the parliamentarian since she's an unelected official, exactly like the Republicans did when the parliamentarian back then stood in the way of the Bush tax cuts. They just fired him and passed it anyway.

There's literally no excuse here. This parliamentarian is in an advisory position and has no real power at all; they could literally just replace her, and they have no obligation to listen to her. It's a fabricated controversy to cover the Dems asses because they refuse to actually do what they said they were going to do, just like with the kids in cages, just like with Guantanamo Bay, just like with flagrantly bombing Syria.

Interesting. I was informed that she needed 50 votes to sustain her objection by some analyst I was watching last night in either CNN or MSNBC. 

In that case, I think the Dem Party leadership has shown their true colors. President Biden keeps claiming that they will "fight for it" and that it means so much to them, but I'm not sure what they actually plan on doing? Even Hawley has a proposal to remedy this, but I can see the Dem Party just screeching about how he's a "SeDitioNist!!" rather than address his proposal.

Dems started out with 2,000. The Republicans sent only 600 of the 2,000 Dems wanted to send out. They are sending the amount needed to get to the 2,000 they wanted in the first place.

OT: I definitely don't think raising the minimum wage should come at the cost of timely covid relief (that's already almost a year late anyway). But they best bring it up again or 2022 and 2024 will be red years.

In Washington, it’s unfortunaly all of nothing. Therefore it’s smart to try and push it in the bill. Biden can try a separate bill but idk if that’ll work

Idk, I just feel like his options right now are "pass covid relief without the wage hike" or "pass nothing and say 'oop we tried'"

Ok than PROVE it in your ACTIONS rather than measly words.

And Harris overruling the parlamentarian on it is one such way to prove thru action. Even IF Sinema and Manchin vote down on it, at least TRY and force them to take that vote so it's on the record.

Yeah and not to mention it would be incredibly embarrassing for the Dems to let the first piece of legislation under Biden fail...

Yall really think “putting Manchin and Sinema on the record” and forcing them to shut down the covid bill is worth literally one of the most embarrassing legislative losses for a president while he has majority in both the house and senate? 

Manchin has already stated he respects the Byrd Rule too much, he took Senator Byrd’s seat and he wants to protect that and he already told Biden that. If they were to overrule the parliament they would lose Manchin no matter what and Republicans would have a field day and it would all but guarantee Dems lose the senate and House again, y’all can’t tell me that’s really what you want?

Manchin might run for Governor so he doesn’t care about being put on blast about a senate bill. He wants to protect the legacy of a famous West Virginia.
