I am maybe be a conspiracy theorist but he might see it as his work, all those years as SNP leader and First Minister and Sturgeon is on the verge of gaining independence for Scotland and essentially she would gain all the credit. He stood down the day after the first referendum. I’m not saying he is doing this but it wouldn’t surprise me.
