The fact that they only made a remaster and had the audacity to call it a remake...

Agree, it’s so sad/bad :/ honestly once I finish the main story I don’t see myself going back to these games. I just hope there’s an update to get the Sinnoh Pokémon in sword and shield so that I can at least play competitive there with them.

Also, I’m not sure if this a problematic opinion but the Lets Go remakes were actually good, and way superior than these remakes. Besides the questionable catching feature, it has a lot of improvements and characteristics that neither SS or BD/SP have. It was way easier to shiny hunt, IV hunt (this in particular bugs me a lot about these games), the art style was cute and the overworld Pokémon were fantastic.

Well, the games are not bad they are just the same.

To me that’s a problem though. They were good for what they were in the DS, but now, there’s a different standard that they could be judged by that makes them bad games.

There’s several things that they corrected or improved from those games to platinum, so I’m confused why they just released the same thing as it originally was when the Pokémon games have evolved even further.

Oh, and something else. These games have been the only ones in the switch that respect Pokémon scale.

I agree with every word. They found a way to make Kanto feel fresh after 4 previous iterations. They took the perfect amount of creative freedom to enhance the experience, without letting go of the original. My only gripe is how oversimplified the actual gameplay was.

BDSP lack that modern twist in pretty much every department. The art direction seems nonexistent, the (dated) gameplay is almost unchanged and the world feels like an exact replica - flaws and all.

It's still a fun experience, as is mostly every Pokémon game. But it barely warrants the name "remake" or the €60 / $60 price tag.

Let's Go were not remakes tho, it was a reimagined version of Yellow version.

I was sooo againts Let's Go games when they were announced but I loved them after the release and even bought the special edition with the pokeball lmao I just don't really like the chibi style used on the human characters, they look weird but it was like an update version of the ORAS style.

BTW the concept art for BDSP looks so good with cities and towns big asf and ugh I wish they went for that route BUT I'm happy about how these remakes look, they look cute and the QOL improvent over the experience animation is enough for me lmao

One thing I noticed is that these remakes are not part of the same (alternative) universe as XY/ORAS and it seems to be placed on the "old" universe with the old games.

EDIT: Woops I got confused with Anabel event on SM where she seems to travel from old gen 3 games to the new parallel universe, that it seems it NOT the same as ORAS/XY since it got the Archie/Maxie old designs idk how the TRR works since I never cared about the Ultra games lmao but yeah parallel worlds are real on the pokemon universe.

I defeated Cynthia last night. Got to wait for FRiday to complete Pokedex. I haven't put much effort into it but seeme to have seen all 150 Pokemon aside from the ghost balloon.

This game has many faults but it did make me miss the old city design from games. The new ones are so heartless.

Is it worth the price? Can someone who played it help me please? :ohno:

I enjoyed it. Did you enjoy the original Diamond/Pearl and want to relive that same experience like for like?

As long as you understand the remakes don't really elaborate or add any substantial new features then go for it! I really enjoyed it and completed it over a long weekend but have barely touched it since
