The first Legend of Zelda game was released 35 years ago today on the Famicom Disk System. Since then, 19 main Zelda games have been released (excluding remakes) on various Nintendo consoles. The latest main game installment, Breath of the Wild released on the Switch and Wii U, has received extremely positive reviews, with a sequel announced to be in the works.

What's your favorite Zelda game?

And yes there's probably nothing being done for zelda this year :( I hope I'm wrong

Wind Waker is my all time fav!!!!

I feel like we'll get something similar to what they did with super mario's 35th anniversary? i don't think they'd let it go like that idk. But then again we got no BOTW2 updates in the direct so :selena:

Wow, 35 :bradley: To describe the entire Legend of Zelda franchise as iconic feels so short, compared to the greatness it achieved... :bradley:

It's truly great, and the soundtrack is so beautiful. Throwback to one of my favorite moments. The laugh/scream of the fairy...

Favorite is Ocarina of Time. So many memories playing it as a child! It’s such a solid game. I’m a huge Zelda fan, I’ve played almost all of the games. Excited for BOTW2

Ocarina is obvs the fave but Breath Of The Wild really struck an emotional chord with me. I hope we get something else asides from the SS remaster this year :enigma: though I'm excited for that one bc I got close to but never finished it.

Ocarina of Time was the very first video game I remember playing.

My aunt & uncle bought my older cousins a N64 with OoT for Christmas 1998. I was only 3 at the time, but whenever we visited them, I was glued to the game. Obviously, I would screw around because I had no clue what to do. But watching my older cousins play was so captivating.

This happened for a year and a bit until my 5th birthday in 2000. My mom bought me an N64 with a ton of games, including Ocarina of Time.

I played it nonstop. Beat it. Played it again. Beat it again, and repeat. I probably put upwards of 1000 hours into the game, just doing everything over and over because I found it so fascinating every time.

It was then my 6th birthday when my mom got me Majoras Mask. This is when Zelda became an obsession. I would proceed to get every Zelda game (usually at release) from this point on.

To this day, The Legend of Zelda series is my number one video game series of all time. And one that brings me a ton of joy and nostalgia

I still think that we'll be getting the sequel this year, but in November/October which is annoying tbh

My brother and I used to play Ocarina of Time back then, so many good memories of it. Breathe of the Wild looks amazing but never had the chance to play it, lucky for those who have gotten so many great games with better technology and graphics today.

I first played Majora’s Mask on the GameCube back in 6th grade and have been a fan since

My first Zelda game was Phantom Hourglass. I've also played A Link Between Worlds (apparently on 3DS but I swear I played on the normal DS), Breath of the Wild, and Age of Calamity.
