The true answer here is ARTPOP. That whole era made Gaga almost quit music and she was very depressed. I'm sorry but I care about Gaga and her well being more than just an album with its era

I'd actually argue ARTPOP was good for Gaga - it ultimately humbled her.

The reason why Gaga has depression is 2:

1. Her sexual harassment incident

2. ARTPOP

So yeah i choose ARTPOP.

Easily her best work for me. Different to everything else put out that year, emotional, angry, crazy, purposefully messy, hooky, lots of bops. Retrospectively, this album will begin to be appreciated by the critic publications who shat on it. It was a good album. It's just "cool to hate it".

But has it affected who she is as an artist? TF was her debut. TFM blew her up. BTW set up her brand. Joanne and C2C showed her versatility.

And ARTPOP? :oprah:

She was already humble and kind but she was not in a good state of mind because of the amount of time that she was overworked. The only good thing that it did was her getting rid of the toxic people around her and becoming more mature, idc what people says but I like Gaga now more than before bc she seems more free, confident, mature etc. But at the end, that era still hurt her a lot and we can't unsee that

ARTPOP.. That era ruined her, her spirit, her love for performance art, her passion for pop culture, her affection towards fans.. It was such a bad period for her. I truly believe if that era didn’t happen and if she waited more to release a new album we would have a totally different Gaga today.

She was ruined because of an inevitable betrayal by most of her team though... it was bound to happen no matter what album she had released.

I think she would have been over that if media, fans and everyone else didn’t hate on her the way they did.
