Israel is the Country in the world that had the highest rollout of vaccines relative to population so scientific and medical community have all eyes on developments in Israel as a glimpse of the results the rest of the world can expect to see soon. So far promising results are starting to be seen.

Those 60 and older which were the main priority group in Israel (in addition to some individuals in some professions) have seen a reduction in daily new cases of 46% with hospitalizations also down already by 34%

Due to a lag in the amount of time it takes for vaccine protection to kick in, plus the amount of time it typically takes once infected to deteriorate enough to need hospitalization, we likely can expect that both new cases and hospitalizations will drop further

In addition cases for those under 60 dropped by 18%. The fact that it fell by way less than those over 60 shows that the vaccine is having an effect but the fact that it still showed some sizable drop also suggests a spill over effect in spread rate among non-vaccinated people

Thank gosh. Anyone else wearing two masks at once recently? It works better, it’s great for colder weather, and it’s not any less comfortable. Even if it was, we’ll be out of this mess soon enough.

True. I hope it gets done sooner rather than later, I don't know why but today I'm particularly tired of this pandemic sh*t :saladga:

And like I need to come back to Israel to get the vaccine, just let me vaxxx myself at the embassy like a normal person.

The West Bank and Gaza have not been taken into account so I wouldn't assume the battle is 100% won. tens of thousands cross every day on both directions during normal times, so using official population numbers can be misleading. The border can't stayed closed forever.

With elections one month away this smells like  damage control, specially after how epically Bibi scrwd the pandemic response. I wouldn't be surprised if the HUGE bonus payed for the early vaccines came directly from Likud.

I'll mop you all across the floor, snatch your fυckιng weave out Βitch

Israel actually paid roughly 20% more for every vaccine shot compared to the EU or US, though. So that money gets put into making more!

Great news for the world

I started the two masks back in October due to high cases in the midwest (which haven't really gone down much)

I've kind of been a double masker for a while. I've never trusted cloth masks, but they're usually cuter, so I would wear a surgical mask beneath a cloth one, or just wear a surgical one or KN95 on its own. Ever since the more contagious strains have made their way here, however, I've been wearing a KN95 over a surgical mask, or two surgical masks, or a cloth mask over a surgical mask.

I also wear goggles if I don't have on glasses. I don't care if I look ridiculous.

Great to see actual proof that It's working. It only depends on how well organized everyone would be and how many and fast the vaccines would be delivered.
