lady siwa 963
I don't know if this has been shared before or not so oops if it has but gaga was on the view in 2011 to promote btw the day it came out and she ends up talking about joanne in her interview and I've never seen this before but I'm so shook because I didn't realize she had talked about joanne so highly throughout her whole career (and not just for the album ) she starts talking about her at around 11:
Perfect Celebrity 1,474
Aw she used to talk about Joanne all the time during TFM/BTW eras. I remember thinking, “she’s gonna write an album or song about Joanne someday” in my head. Look where we are now. I remember watching this interview on TV and being so excited that day
RudraCNG 14,388
She also talked about her during The Fame era 8:
Cameltoe Chariot 14,713
She put one of the Joanne's poems in the liner notes of The Fame, and dedicated the album to her. Also in the Manifesto of Little Monsters that she did for The Monster Ball Tour 1.0 she signs it off with either the death date or birth date of Joanne. Sneaky Oliver 21,550
The fans who got shocked by Gaga’s deep feelings for Joanne either didn’t know Gaga very well throughout the years or were just plain insensitive... she has been telling Joannes story ever since the very beginning and it has been such a great inspiration for her even in her dark dance pop days

She was teasing the concept since the beginning of her career and little managers dared to say it was dishonest lmfao Former First Lady of the United States. Now card-carrying member of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

I’m sure that it changed him as a person and he carried that with him throughout Gaga’s life too which in turn impacted her as well. She’s not obsessed, she’s an artist 👩🎨

She was teasing the concept since the beginning of her career and little managers dared to say it was dishonest lmfao It’s more that she was stretching the idea of authenticity. She literally says as much in 5F2 when she cries to Bobby about him saying they need to elevate the aesthetics more. Girl’s always wearing a costume of some kind. She expresses herself authentically through costume. Joanne isn’t a “Gaga without the makeup” era, it’s basically just another Gaga era though the character and costume and topic they revolve around are less to do with fame and the public eye than the other albums. Doesn’t make them inauthentic or dishonest, it’s just no more honest or dishonest than her other albums imo. She’s an artist who changes her approach to authenticity with each album. Look at chromatica and TFM which are basically thematically the same. The approaches are so wildly different with chromatica being way more overt and direct and TFM being a bit more abstract. Both still v authentic to Gaga.
