I suppose it has to be pretty bad if those celebrities had to be 185 to collectlively make their coming out Great actually Yeah not perfect, but we have marriage equality since 2017 and LGBTQ+ are all over TV and all media our Minister of Health is gay and our Vice Chancellor from 2009-2013 was also gay

I knew one of them and I would say I know a lot about the german entertainment industry. But anyways, this is still huge and must be a big step for all of them so I don’t wanna discredit this at all! It's the society, public discourse and the way LGBTQ+ people get treated by police that's kinda awful and actually WAY behind. The general consensus of the general public is "if you're gay, good for you, but don't shove it down my throat, i don't wanna see it, i don't wanna hear it, i don't wanna know it." Anecdotally, LGBTQ+ people are more likely to face persecution, humilations and aggression by the police force. HOWEVER, we have no clear picture because the police force refuses to show transparance period. In terms of racial profiling, right-wing extremism in the police-force and violence towards the LGBTQ+ community the police refuses to let itself get investigated. i don’t really agree with you. you can live an openly gay live here and it’s just normal. compared to other countries like russia, serbia, poland or even italy. there are gay bars, clubs ect in every bigger city and nobody cares when u go hand in hand with your partner. discrimination is a crime and lgbt rights are protected. as on tv and media it’s most of the time nothing more like a side note. for example when jochen schropp came out, it was for a minute in the yellow press but not more of a “news” than a str8 celeb presenting a new partner. it’s not like people get canceled or fired ect anymore. the other way around... if you are homophobic, you get to called out, have your shitstorm and rightfully cancellation.... and yes, in very conservative areas it’s still a progress but it’s far different than just a few years ago.
