Yes the production is clean but there are also many moments of purposefully unpolished production There’s the key. ARTPOP is very purposeful in its execution, that makes it polished because it is doing exactly what it was crafted to do. Every synth is meticulously chosen for maximum impact. Every part that sounds off, dirty and tense is carefully tuned to give the desired effect. ARTPOP has incredible production because it knows when it needs to be clean and stripped back and when to get weird and dirty. It has a near perfect balance of grit and weirdness and clean, punchy production. Other albums of hers feel like they usually rely on tricks or safe references. BTW seems to think the way to add some grit is to layer synths until they sound like mud. Chromatica often goes for the safest and most obvious production choices. With ARTPOP it feels like they went over every single element and refused to go for the obvious, it feels like there’s more thought put into it. ARTPOP’s ugly, chunky synths seem like they were tuned to a tee with the intent of being memorable, while Chromatica’s pretty and luscious synths, while cleaner, sound like every synth you’ve already heard in songs of the genre. If you define most polished as “prettiest sounding”, then of course ARTPOP isn’t it. But if you define it by “most carefully crafted”, then yeah, I don’t see another contender. PunkTheFunk 123,922
Chromatica is the most "clean" sounding.
RichAssPiss 4,772
It depends what you mean, but Joanne sounds incredibly slick and beautifully produced with what I think are her best recorded vocals.
Married the Night 3,955
Easily Chromatica. It’s her most solid and consistent album. The Fane Monster too.
Sorcerer 12,136
Chromatica is definitely the cleanest and most polished The production in BTW is all over the place Joanne is also very polished but yeah, it only has few pure dance-pop songs
C1trus 4,230
Chromatica all the way! So far, it's the only Gaga album I can play in full many times in a row. And I'm not even exaggerating ι'м ρυℓℓιηg үσυя sтяιηgs

KURUSHITOVSKA 20,451
ARTPOP????? It had reused instrumentals, that's not polished lol The real answer should be TFM or BTW. ¿Qué currículum tiene ésta tarántula?
hELXIG 42,039
The holographic ARTPOP cover was very shiny so they probably spent longer polishing that one tbh I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.
