Actually releasing albums quickly was pretty popular back in the day, especially with jazz. There was a year where Tony released 4 albums, and the year before and after he released one :ally: Imagine if our favs released 11 albums in 5 years.

I wish this would make a comeback lol. That used to be a popular thing to do, artists like The Beatles or Elvis would release like 2 albums a year, one in March then again in November, multiple times during their lives. Or like ABBA, from 1973 to 1981 they released one album a year. Of course these were other standards, not all artists can have this luck with being creative and coming up with good music.

In the streaming era? I'd say albums are more likely to stop being made than being made more often

yeah back in the day pop artists usually released at least once a year. the beatles and barbra streisand come to mind. hell, the supremes released 4 albums in 1964

Prince literally released one album a year for almost his entire career. Some people love to create and share music.
