Why? Its not like they released the tittle, cover nor date for it. They just said its in the works, which is something that has been stated quite a lot before (although very loosely). I dont think they were using the diagnosis as hype at all nor it took the spotlight from the real heartbreak truth

The point is they shouldn't have mentioned at all along with the news of Tony's diagnosis. Either announce it beforehand or afterwards. Now every article about Tony has Gaga's name all over it, and it just looks bad.

I don't think it looks bad. I think before they start releasing footage, they want to make the GP/fans aware of the situation.

If they release footage of Tony acting confused, people will start to speculate. I think it was best to release this difficult news right off the bat so that everyone is on the same page.

It's a very complicated situation but I don't think it's bad or negative, it had to be done at some point.

I think they did it because it may be his last album ever put out. You never know if anyday now he dies... we may be lucky to even get 1 performance with him and Gaga.

Or, what if... they wanted to let people know about it BUT don't want this to be all over the news? So they want to give media outlets something big to talk about? I think this could be intentional. It doesn't look bad. It depends on how you look at it.

I love Tony and glad I got the chance to see him and Gaga perform on one random night. No one expected him. She really loves him. I hope he finds peace in creating more art and blessing us with the amazing talent he possesses.

if you had read the article you'd clearly see that it was his family's decision to be open about it due to the fact that the album is coming out soon and he wont be able to promote it. and they wanted people to know why. we as the public have ZERO right to question their decision.

I think parts of it are meant to preface the announcement of the album to make it clear that he won’t be participating in the promotion for it because of his condition deterioratingz i think an announcement is bound to come this month, but i also hope people take the time and read the full thing. his story is so inspiring and admirable, he’s such a genuinely good man

It is Tony's estate. They agreed to finally open this to public. His wife and son. If you read the article, it was hinted. Also mentioned that his son is Tony's manager for 40+ years. They must have understood that Tony don't have much time left until Alzheimer's taken over him, and have to put this out soon so Tony can enjoy his legacy one last time.
