He did make points but I hate how these toxic men get hyped when he talks about gay bashing and talking about how people het labeled homophopbic now days, the sh** about BLM too was not it for me.

Go to 2:05 these guys start agreeing with him heavily, they then completely look over tha fact that he said BLM is a stupid name. He wants to overlook the casualties that happened to natives and eat his food with his family, wow what a poet.

:bear:...

So anyways, let's all stan Paper Eros and their 1st single coming soon for the Canadians.

On a serious note, his influences are or were literally all about shock ala MM and irresponsible hate anthem. She's insecure, bothered, and delusional! Literally trying to make ????? what seems to be a right-wing sob story???

This song is full of hot spills, gross takes and just plain “????” and it was a trip :lolly: The weakest links will definitely tank the whole performance tho, like:

Eminem realizing his old lyrics were trash and holding Trump voters accountable is a good thing.

That BLM line literally isn’t even true 😭 Google racial disparities please.

Countries “going crazy”, when was there ever a point of sanity tho?

The feminism part... well... men do kinda smell ig 🌚 (kidding)

I mean it’s a song and full of small statements so like I feel like there’s too much and also nothing to say idk. It’s definitely shaking the table

Some points were made, but these songs always come across as parodies to me... I really can’t take them seriously, even though I’m sure he’s 100% serious about this whole song.

It’s just so ****ing tragic how far right voices are more loud than left wing ones (altho luckily they’re getting louder). This song is shitting on valid and bad parts of neoliberalism, but it’s pushing people closer than fascism than not. Like... not a freaking Ben Shapiro quote in his chorus :messga: It’s all so distressing. Right wing ideology does not the have the right answers.

Here’s a way to listen to it without supporting the song:

I just finished reading the lyrics and he raises some interesting points. Some of the stuff he said was stupid but I do agree with the lyrics about Cardi B being a role model for 12 years olds and that cancel culture is real and actually counterproductive to anything good. He seems like a guy who doesn't see the world in black or white, its way too complicated, and I know this will make a lot of people angry because society now has a massive mob mentality with identity politics and all.

People who are pressed by Cardi B can't raise their children and are searching for someone to blame for it

We don't need loud far right voices just as we don't need loud far left voices.

This is the first time I've ever heard someone say that a Caucasian man rapping is cultural appropriation. Seriously? Are we being for real here? You must despise Eminem. The African American man blasting Em's music through his Bluetooth speakers, who I met if few weeks ago, certainly doesn't.

Tom's not using anything against people of color. He believes we are all getting screwed the same by the system. I disagree with him, but what he said was not hateful.

There are two quotes from Tom's song Cancelled that are relevant here. One of them is, "I braid my hair and I don't care about cultural appropriation." I don't braid my hair, but I genuinely don't believe in cultural appropriation.

I'm a queer man who sometimes dresses in female clothing. Am I appropriating an entire gender of people because I have a feminine side?

I'm a Jew who doesn't care if people who aren't Jewish make Holocaust jokes. I think it's hilarious.

A non-Jewish African American man walked into a Jewish store I used to shop at when I was religious. He wanted to purchase a yarmulke/kippah. Did I consider it religious or cultural appropriation? Not in the least. I found it beautiful.

Traditionally, in Judaism, only men wear yarmulkes/kippot. Women started wearing them too. Do I consider that gender appropriation within the religion? Not at all.

In another one of Tom's songs, I don't remember the title nor do I remember the exact quote, but I remember the idea, he says whereas some people consider his tattoos to be appropriation, he considers them to be paying homage.

Sometimes the truth gets lost in the details. I suppose that's why they say the devil is in the details. I think it's important people do what they can to remain consistent while looking at the underlying intentions of others, whether or not they agree with the way they're being expressed.

Yes, I know there's a phrase that says the road to hell is paved with good intentions, but if someone is well intended, that is to say they're not trying to detract from the well-being of others and possibly even believe they're doing something positive, I will give them the benefit of the doubt, even if I disagree wholeheartedly.

It's like Tom says in the song Snowflakes: "All the contradictions are embarrassing."

To end my reply on a positive note, I will give the second quote from Tom's song, Cancelled: "I lived in the ghetto, lived in South Central. There's no Caucasians and still I loved every single one of my neighbors."

Peace ☮️☮️☮️

Never thought I'd live to see an actual Tommithy McDonaldon stan in the wild. Much less on this site.
