It’s honestly a bit strange it sells so well bc I rarely see beauty youtubers talk about it and if they do it is either negative or they are unimpressed.

This is not true , haus labs had great reviews

Yup. The fact it sells on Amazon and has been kept to the most neutral generic color palette there is tells me this is a brand for midwestern soccer moms more than anything else. I guess that's the core demographic.

Cause actual makeup people don't like the brand. I know some people will still say we're being "negative" or whatever. But when the beauty community is so blatantly lukewarm about a brand, it should tell you that there is some validity in the critics.

And before I get told "it sells so it's a good brand", I can remind you of products like the St Ives Scrub which are bestsellers and found in basically every household despite being objectively terrible for your skin. Or Dance Monkey topping the charts. The general public has **** taste and popularity isn't the sole indicator for quality, in all industries.

It's a generic, uninspired brand with no real identity. The quality is ok to good, nothing oustanding and doesn't warrant the price point.

So no, those numbers don't suddenly make me like Haus Labs.

Regardless of quality, I'm surprised that many people are willing to buy HL when they can't see the product in-person or swatch it against their skin before purchase. This Amazon experiment might be a game-changer in the way beauty brands sell/market in the future (at least new brands/lines), as it seems to imply people are willing to do that? Hmm. She's an innovator, she lives to innovate

I sometimes click on MUAs commenting on the HL page, often very small ones and they all really like it and use it.

Lol I've been a small MUA for a little while and I tagged products I didn't even use to get shoutouts :toofunny: Idk, small MUAs tend to do all they can to get on PR lists whereas big MUAs don't need to. Small MUAs are seeking exposure, big MUAs are seeking views.

Dude you're not getting it. It's just not clicking with you at all. You're so butthurt over her not promoting chromatica to your liking that you wanna act like she's schilling HL constantly. She actually promotes it herself very little when you consider what she could be doing. A few posts on her IG every few weeks or when a new product drops is NOT a lot. Yet her "fans" did their living best to trash her brand constantly. Too right I feel smug on her behalf :firega:

I'm not butthurt. She's objectively not promoting Chromatica.

A "few posts every few weeks" is maybe not a lot. It becomes a lot when you compare it to the rest of her Instagram and realize it takes up most of it now. You can go ahead and count.

Tbh it appears to me you have a very, very, very strong bias for Gaga and can't comprehend disliking something your favs do. I love the girl and most of her projects, but I'm not gonna pretend I consider Haus Labs to be a good brand. As someone who is into makeup, it's simply underwhelming, and the beauty community mostly agrees with me, whether it be Youtubers or makeup fans on platforms like Reddit.

From my understanding you don't even use makeup or care about it that much, so why are you arguing with me about this? It looks like you only care because it's Gaga related, not because you have an actual opinion on the brand.

The way you guys cannot comprehend people can dislike Gaga related projects is funny but also concerning. That's such a childish way to operate.

I'm not expecting much of you, but maybe you can realize people have actual reasons to not like a brand that are not spite or pettiness? Hope that's not too much to process

I wouldn't call pairing up with an unethical company as a way to make big bucks "innovation"... the bling not the music brain rot really got to you guys uh? :awkney:

I’m talking about beauty youtubers, not in general and not that I have seen. I own and like a lot of their products actually, but people like RawBeautyKristi, Robert Welsh, Alexandra Anele, etc have all been ambivalent or outright negative about the brand.

Can someone invent singing cosmetics, so Rihanna and Gaga can non-stop releasing music with their cosmetics? Benefit for all

It’s not that we don’t comprehend it but it’s the fact that the hate towards this brand is so damn tiring. Until recently we couldn’t have a thread about HL without a mod warning us to be polite. A year after it started.

We get that not everyone likes it but what’s the point about sharing your dislike. And miss me with the ‘CoNsTRucTiVe CriTiCism’ BS because a shady gif or unneeded annoying comment isn’t criticism. It’s unnecessary hate.

You can not like it and it’s fine. But just don’t comment if you are not here to be civil or supportive about it. That goes for a lot of other Gaga projects too.

What? Even jeffree star said that it was good and he was shocked at the quality of the products. And you can see in almost every behind the scenes these days famous celebrities using haus labs products.

Kindness rules all.

Just bc she's not posting about music as much as HL it doesn't mean she cares about it more.. If things had gone right last year it would have been 70% music. But it didn't.

Besides...  You're still using a song lyric she wrote when she was 21 to back your argument lol. Like how lame is that!

And too right I'm gonna be biased for Gaga, she deserves to have some of us being positive and cheering her on compared to some of her fans.

And the company is a success 👌👌😜

Ma'am/sir I'm just being playful, I haven't even purchased any Haus Labs :deadbanana: Unclench a little before you say others have brain rot, yeesh. I know you're fired up because of that other user going at you but I actually agree with what you're saying here.

I'll reword, that I'm surprised people are willing to purchase from a digital storefront instead of a physical storefront for a product like makeup. I wouldn't be able to risk more than $10 on that and HL products are a bit pricier than that, so...
