I did think it was kind of interesting her saying about the inauguration being the "biggest crowd of her life" because I personally don't really put politicians on a pedestal like that, but I can definitely understand that it was a great honor for her to do that

It really was broadcast everywhere, even in my tiny old country. My dad came to my room and told me to come watch lady gaga on tv :diane: wholesome moment

"It's been very hard for my father" girl, you're rich. If he needs some money, he can come to you. I wonder if she felt awkward talking about her father, does anyone know where she's at with Joe right now?

@Ziggy @Beatboom yes I think she must have meant it the way you're saying. Idk I think the political scene here the past four years has left such a bad taste for me about politicians:air:  but I definitely understand and see the significance of that moment!

Interesting but strange interview, imo.

It's so jarring, as a long-time Gaga fan, to listen to her say (in a roundabout way) that her activism is more important (and has more 'meaning') to her than her music career.

I understand the point she was making - but it's still so contradictory to everything we know (or knew) about Gaga. She's always been an activist. That's why we love her. But her music was always part of her activism. Her music and art was how she healed people. Now it's through philanthropy and promoting Health and Safety window stickers.

Her music seems to to take a backseat when it comes to her core goals in life now, even though music is the most powerful healer of them all.

And, yes, I know this interview was for a very specific purpose - but it's not just this interview that I'm referring to; she's been in this frame of mind for over a year now, where she separates activism from art. It's like the 'Lady Gaga' brand is used to create cash (endless product deals) to fund what Stefani really wants to do.

Well the product deals we're supposed to fund the Chromatica Ball. :haroon:

I think she explained it when she said she's 34 now.  What she would have seen as challenging before (as a 23 year old very ambitious, dedicated performer) isnt in the grand scheme of things now that she's lived through some ****. I'm really glad she's not coming on crying about having to cancel a tour or releasing a dance album that really deserved to be enjoyed in clubs that. She knows that as disappointing as it is, it's really not a big deal in the grand scheme of things. My mom is in hospital now recovering from COVID and it's been pretty brutal. We really don't know things will go for her. So trust me when I say that hearing a very rich and famous pop star playing down the music/business side of things and promoting safety and mental health care is exactly what she should be saying.

Im sure she means personally too. With her own health issues throughout the years, her dad and now her grandmother who is undergoing cancer treatment she knows what priorities are in life now. It's not her not caring about music anymore. She just has her priorities in place now. It's a lot healthier than her coming out of surgery and the first thing she thinks of is little monsters... I don't think that's a good way for her to be. The music will always be there.

It is hard for all business owners. Yes he isn't worried about his mortgage but he's clearly very involved in running his business and he's allowed to be worried about it. This kind of attitude is just ignorant. That's like saying Gaga has no right to worry about the virus bc she has access to the best care.

There has never been an issue between them. Not like the way the fandom puts it. Y'all tried to make it sound like she is done with him bc he said she bought him oreos for his birthday 🙄. As if he was gonna say "oh she bought be a rolex".. Yes his politics are **** but Joe has always been supportive to her career even when he thought she was losing the plot in the early days. They have their usual family baggage like every one of us but they are obviously very close. He said he was very proud that she was performing at the inauguration. Frankly it's been interesting as hell to see you all trash her father and then wonder why she doesn't talk to us. Hmm...

Well... I think it was the biggest crowd ever.... the whole world watched... not just politians or only America.

It was live on almost every tv channel in Europe (and I believe the rest of the world too)

StressedOut

Respectfully, this interview was kind of all over the place

I'm glad she seems to be doing okay, I do agree I was interested in her answer to that catalog question lol, but I think she just really wanted to promote the WELL certification.

It's really nice to hear her promoting something she believes in, gaga is predominantly occupied with helping the world in whatever way she can.
