Won't the base price of everything go up anyway to meet minimum wage. I doubt restaurants are going to keep prices the same as they are when they have to pay employees more.  America is gunna get a hell lot more expensive.

Here in the UK we have minimum wage and tipping is optional if you wish to when the service is good. When minimum wage goes up so does the cost of the food/services.

raising minimum wage like this will have pretty horrific results for everyone that isn't a minimum wage worker. the world doesn't consist of just insanely rich CEOs, and then minimum wage workers, there are so many people in between that will be affected by such a change. but maybe everything can be resolved by just telling Jeff Bezos "gimme" :huntyga:

Are y'all thick or sumthin'?

Do you realize how much we all pay right now to subsidize minimum wage workers? Think of how much $$$ American tax payers fork up for food stamps, low income housing, and other form of welfare to subsidize companies that pay their workers next to nothing.

In 2016, the Economic Policy Institute wrote a report that found that if U.S. minimum wage was increased to $12/hour by 2020, tax payers would save $17 BILLION every single year due to a decrease in welfare payments.

No serious economist would ever find say that raising it to $15/hour by 2025 would yield "horrific" results.

Well, of course an internet discussion begins with "are y'all thick." I also have many degrees. :huntyga: What you're saying isn't wrong, but there are many arguments and counterarguments. as well as numerous other factors to consider pertaining to adjacent topics and concepts. I won't insult you, though.

Well considering we just passed a nearly 3 trillion dollar tax cut, we need to start spending less and asking private companies to spend more to offset it

So that’s exactly what you’re seeing from liberal leaders

And just like that, everything is going to be way more expensive.

Don’t play with me, it just hurts me.

The awkward moment when companies raising their prices to keep their insane profit margins is of more concern to some of y’all than, you know, families living in poverty... :bear:

That's okay, as long as you have a point regarding the topic, I can live with being call a name or two,

I just ignore it..

....

3 trillion tax cut???

and finally,, spend less, go after big fat wallet companies to help more... okay that's a common sense plan
