But but but this means nothing because student debt, imperialism, etc.

OMG the sink is flooding and there is a whole in the wall.... Tear the house down!!!

More like the house was built on a shaky foundation, is rotting and breaking down, but people think changing the window pane is going to make everything okay instead of recognizing the whole house DOES need to be torn down and rebuilt from scratch.

Because student debt and the military equal a rotting foundation.

Yay now trans people can go kill innocent lives in the Middle East in the name of ~peace~ :bear:

hostility aside, at least it’s kind of a “win” if you ignore, you know, what the military actually is...

Honey the White House was built by slaves, the entire country is a relic of on going white supremacy. It needs to be destroyed (the system to clarify) for marginalized people to ever truly experience real freedom and equality.

Girl, the house isn't broken but simply unfinished.

And the people who started it did a terrible job, so it needs to be rebuilt from scratch because finishing a project that was started incompetently and on genocidal premises is a recipe for failure (as we continue to witness, this past year in particular).

Funny a black poet that spoke at the white house disagrees about the house needing to be rebuilt from scratch. But keep foraciously typing away at your computer I'm sure you'll get far.

Lmao yeah because all black people are a monolith and have to have the same opinions and goals?

what even is this argument, that is meaningless. There are also black poets who said America needs to be destroyed and or rebuilt.  I listen to activists and political thinkers, and it’s pretty clear the foundations of this country are the source of most of its problems.

Um...you're the one speaking as if all black people are a monolith for the last however many comments I only mentioned one. But I agree what's the point of this conversation?

Again, "inclusive" imperialism and military violence is nothing to celebrate. This isn't the "win" y'all think it is just because it's painted in progressive colors. Trust me other countries won't appreciated being f*cked over by trans people over cis people lmao

I literally forgot about how US troops actually invade other countries. Like, I know it, but at the top of my head when I think about troops I think about my country's troops and how they only exist within my country.

Even outside of war there are American troops stationed in various countries where they regularly sexually assault and harass the locals.

Except its literally not a win. I'm pretty sure bombing other people (including trans people) and invading their lands and meddling with their stability is not a win. Idc what the benefits or whatever are, its literal BS. But then again most people here and elsewhere think Kamala being a VP is a win or Biden taking over the US is a great accomplishment so I'm not surprised lol

Um how are rank and file vets to blame for any of that...

You're obviously disillusioned bc THIS IS A HUGE WIN FOR TRANS RIGHTS and Biden will be (and already has been tbh) BY FAR the best President for LGBTQIA Americans we've ever had. Period.

The vast majority of military officers have rank-and-file desk jobs, mostly for intelligence purposes

Intelligence that keeps the US and global community safe from attacks and threats

But yeah the US military is 100% evil, disregarding the fact that leadership changes every 4-8 years, and this action actually sucks... give me a break

Literally article I linked above was about a desk job militarily guy raping and killing a woman outside of a US base in Japan lol

i recommend everyone read about anti imperialism

For a huge win I personally don’t know a single trans person that was happy or overjoyed about this, many were critical, so idk if I would call it a huge win when trans woman are overwhelmingly homeless and under the threat of violence daily. It’s lip service/symbolic at best.
