I don't know what people were expecting from The Winx. Cheesey costumes and cheesey transformations?

At least for all the main girls to be there :triggered: Flora was my fave. They just made another boring and unnecessary teen drama and called it Winx. :triggered:

I'm kind of over the Wizarding World. The original movies ended their run only a decade ago, and the prequels are ongoing at the moment, another Harry Potter property just seems like overkill. This trend of stretching every intellectual property like Disney stretches Marvel is going to create even less room for creative ideas.

I guess they are trying to see what would people think of that idea, before doing anything about it yet

tbh I would not mind a show set in the magical world, with new characters and hell maybe the old actors can even make cameos   but make it good this time!

Cursed Child and Fantastic Beasts were huuuge mess, ruined some main characters and even killed some part of the diegesis... So I'm not here for it AT ALL, let this universe alone :saladga: Tbh even the 4 last movies were kinda bad imo (except 7.1)

The only way to do something interesting is:
- A medieval story about Hogwarts founders
- Stories of Marauders
- A very faithful adaption of the 7 books with EVERY little details (but release in 10 years minimum)

But I don't see one of these three options coming so... I'm more excited about the upcoming rpg oriented game

I mean I get it if it's bad, but The Mandalorian was excellent. So I wouldn't mind at least giving this show a chance.

I agree that they probably shouldn't have called it Winx. I don't mind teen dramas tho..

I don't doubt that the show will have objectively good qualities, but the overall quality of the Potterverse has been slipping consistently with every release after The Deathly Hallows Part 2. Cursed Child, Fantastic Beasts, Crimes of Grindelwald and JK's gender critical views have soured many on new material from this franchise.

I can't believe I'm saying this cause I'm a huge HP fan, but keep it

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

You're right except I thought COG was actually a move in the right direction. The way they developed Newt character was the best character development of all the movies. Even if the actual story was a little weak. I'm here for the next movie tho.

Is Hollywood really running out ideas that they have to have a Harry Potter TV show? It sounds kind of interesting but the movies ended only 10 years ago. Give them time to age, and then do it. This seems too fast

Ehh idk about this, the movie franchise was very iconic and acclaimed so I don’t see a reason to adapt the source material again, unless it’s not actually an adaptation of the books but a spin off.

The book series that desperately needs a new adaptation is Percy Jackson, such incredible books that were disrespected with two atrocious movies. It pains me when I mention it and people just think of those demonic films.

I completely agree. The original films and books are still quite clear and recent in the minds of Harry Potter fans, and the Fantastic Beasts franchise has caused the franchise to lose it's halo when it comes to critical reception. Getting another iteration of the Harry Potter books would be played out and tacky only a decade after the original adaption ended.

Spill that tea about PJ! That is the amazing series that got away and deserves a proper shake. I think an animated series would be the best fit at this point, with each season covering a book. Rick Riordan is unproblematic as well.

That may be your opinion, but COG was the worst received HP movie by far, and was also a box office decline. The third installment isn't slated until 2022, and I wouldn't be surprised if the 5 movie plan gets reduced to 4 if the trend continues.

Right? My personal preference for a Harry Potter continuation would be a single final film starring the original trio and retconning out TCC and crafting a fresh story with the original actors as adults. A TV show could be fun of course, but I wish we could get a different fantasy show rather than one set in this universe that's already been explored.
