Clearly cops are not equipped or qualified to deal with mentally ill people. I'm sure even cops that aren't necessarily racist pigs don't know what to do in cases like that. This is something the government needs to address, because lord knows mental illness has reached endemic proportions and we can't have things like that happen all the time. You know that somebody HAS to do the job right? Also, dont act like the problems with police started out of nowhere, these problems are the result of the behaviour of US people. Yall tolerated these incidents for years, made it seem like you can just shoot a person as a cop and get away with it and now you think that screaming ACAB and generalizing 700k of people will solve anything? Racism is deeply rooted in the US society, using your logic of "all cops are bastards, just because they are part of the police system" we could also say "all americans are bastards because they tolerated this behaviour for years and havent left the country". 48 cops were slain in line of duty in 2019 while they were protecting your gay asses. Yes. It's my view that modern day American police forces should be defunded into abolition and we should build a more compassionate organization in their place. Are you kidding? This man committed no crime. He wasn't under arrest. He was unarmed. He barely even left his front door. The officer knew he wasn't in a good mental state. And because he didn't bow down to a police officer, he was fatally shot 3 times in the chest. You want us to pay with our lives to get better policing?! Sorry, but if you willingly join a group of people that have historically been anti-black, then yeah, you’re a bastard. Even if, individually, you’re not anti-black yourself, but still choose to be around people that are anti-black, then you’re guilty by association. And please don’t equate being a citizen of a country- which you almost never have a say in- to a group that you willingly choose to be a part of.
