Black trans woman Sylvia Rivera, of the Gay Liberation Front and one of the original organizers of the Stonewall Riot, was booed off the stage by cis white gays and lesbians at the first gay pride event following Stonewall CIS GAYS: we cannot keep abusing our trans/gender queer friends by leaving them behind — we owe our lives to them.
