I'm a pagan and technically a witch (although I don't like the connotations and superstitions attached to the label) and I see this happening in the community quite a lot, especially recently due to how quickly witchcraft is becoming insanely popular.. but only in a certain 'corner' of the community. Most don't, and many including myself don't even believe in it. How witchcraft and magick works is mostly to do with energy and the subconscious mind, so I can't see how something like a hex could work.
