But what I’m say is it is unfair to prioritize smokers (people who make a conscious choice to destroy their body) over countless other groups in NJ that are equally as vulnerable and can’t get the vaccine. Don’t try to splain this to me with some whinying bs. I am both a New Jerseyian AND smoke. So I can, from personal experience, greatly condemn this bs move. Smoking is a choice just like refusing to eat healthy or recklessly driving. Vaccines being rolled out should prioritize Seniors and seniors only. Well I’m glad that your emotional self isn’t in charge of this public health issue. What would be unfair is to keep sending severely sick people to the ERs that are already flooded. Smokers ARE more prone the severe illness. Go back to page 2 where I outlined the CDC guidelines on the vaccine rollout and why it makes perfect sense from a public health perspective to vaccinate smokers as a priority. Mitigating death and severe illness is and always has been priority #1. Vaccinating smokers early falls in line with that. The debate over “well they put themselves at risk” is TOTALLY emotion-based, irrational, and irrelevant. Science and public health don’t care about your feelings. And MILLIONS have chosen to quit. This kind of rhetoric is enabling of self destructive behavior and takes blame away from individuals that use a product widely known to be dangerous. You literally sound like a monster Congrats for being one of the least compassionate (and correct!) people in this thread which is already filled with other cruel people! Your argument is completely judgmental and emotion-based. What you’re saying legit holds zero water.
