The problem involved the memory chip used in the displays, which could affect a range of safety issues including: âŚÂ the loss of rear-view camera images and controls for defrosting, heating, air conditioning ⌠the potential loss of audible chimes and the drive-assistance Autopilot feature The email from Tesla, sent to affected customers, acknowledges the issues and states that it has "voluntarily" decided to recall the affected models. source Tesla has been asked to recall 158,000 Model S and Model X vehicles over an issue with failing touchscreens, which could increase the risk of crashes. The problem involves the memory chips used in the displays of cars made between 2012 and 2018, which wear out, causing the screen to stop working. But that has nothing to do with what I'm saying. If Tesla's prices are not that far off from other cars, then the less reasons there are for it to be valued that high. Specially when they operate largely on a loss and they recently surpassed Facebook in stock market value. If you don't see anything wrong there then I'm sorry but you're blind.
