Gaga Shouldn't Release Music Until 2022

I'd like her to have a folklore moment, acoustic music and surprise release without any massive promo. Btw I don't think we'll get new music in 2021 and 2022. Most likely in 2023/4

numb the flame

this is the first time i’ve ever been disappointed in a Gaga era so if i’m honest at this very moment i’m not too fussed if she released in 2022 or 3022.

ARTPOPFrankenstein

I’d be happy if we didn’t get any new music but got a couple of EP’s from unreleased pieces of work - Redone’s 8 songs and ARTPOP act 2......

Where is LG7

Just a (Gaga) daily reminder that she's very unpredictable, especially with the fate we have for Chromatica....

"They don't get to do that cause....

If Gaga really wanted an epic roll-out for Chromatica, she could've made it happen.

She is a multi-millionaire who claims (or claimed) to live for her art and creativity.

If anything, the pandemic created the perfect backdrop for Chromatica - not just creatively (in terms of kindness and 'cancelling earth'), but also in terms of how it provided a legitimate reason to scale physical interaction back. This would've suited Gaga and removed the need for things she finds difficult, like touring and in-person events.

Instead, she could've focused heavily on online content (performances, live streams, virtual concert) and crafted a different kind of pop era like Dua Lipa did. Chromatica of ALL pop eras was best positioned for this, since the idea of creating a new planet lent itself so perfectly to virtual innovation.

The fact she didn't do that, though, tells me that music (or creating musical 'moments') is not Gaga's priority and that we shouldn't expect new music anytime soon - but not because of the pandemic. It's because she (evidently) doesn't care about creating eras anymore. She just drops the music, and cashes in on any brand deals that it might attract. That's it.

Oh yeah a global pandemic killing people all throughout the US, a neofascist president running for re-election, a financial disaster, and the largest uprising in US history occurring in response to police killings is the perfect backdrop to a dance-pop era rollout that was made to be played in clubs. Are you guys for real?

Joanne came out in 2016. Chromatica roll-out was so incredibly messy that I really don’t think most people even know it happened. Stupid Love leaking/non-event to anyone outside the fan base. Rain on Me in the only song people know and it’s a feature, seems to me all people know is, Lady Gaga released a stand-alone single with Ariana Grande in summer 2020. Anyway, if she stays silent for a lot longer it’s going to start looking like she hasn’t released an album in over 5+ years.

I mean, she and her team decided to release the album. It was clear in February where things were headed, and they should've put a stop to the era right there and then. But they didn't.

Therefore, they should've - and could've - made it work.

Just because things were difficult doesn't mean the challenge was impossible.

Gaga is a pop star, and - to be honest - there's no reason why she shouldn't have provided some escapism and joy in a dark period. It was her choice not to... but to argue that she physically couldn't is just incorrect.

Yes, the music was made for clubs. But if she had to release it, she could've at least danced to it herself and tried to spread some joy. Instead, she decided to drop the pop star act and focus on humanitarian issues. That's fine (and admirable) - but it doesn't stack up when you've just released a pop album.

Look at Dua and Kylie and Katy Perry. They delivered.

The gp doesn’t really care about albums tbh. Most people just listen to singles as they come out, and check out albums of people they are die hard fans of. Gaga had one of the biggest peaks of her career from ASIB, and will have a huge peak I believe during Gucci.

But Gucci isn’t an album.
And ASIB is not solely her album?

I'm not really interested in the GP or commercial response.

I missed the 'fan service' elements of Chromatica - the kind that Kylie and Katy did deliver, irrespective of their sales or stats.

Then I guess the media coverage, album success, massive #1 song, acclaim, and Oscar don’t matter to her career.
