LaLuna 12,732
Four-week Quebec lockdown begins Saturday; mandatory 8 p.m. curfew imposed across province With cases, hospitalizations and deaths on the rise in Quebec, “the battle is not over, the situation over the past week has worsened,” Premier François Legault said at a press conference this afternoon. “We are in the battle of our lives,” he added, describing the situation as “critical” and “serious.” That’s why a “shock treatment” is required, Legault said. As of Saturday, and for four weeks (until Feb. 8), there will be a curfew from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. across the province, he announced. Offenders could face fines of beteen $1,000 and $6,000. “We all need to stay home as much as possible for the next four weeks,” Legault said. “Police officers will be there to make sure everybody respects the rules.” https://montrealgazette.com/news/local-news/covid-19-updates-january-6-montreal-quebc-new-cases-vaccine-lockdown-curfew-legault 2021, starting off with a bang

Fatigay 21,211
I'm so against the curfew.. It will just incite people to have not only dinner parties, but sleepovers. It will simply not work.
CCSir 410
The message is not very solid. On one side, you have the lockdown measures, which are actually somewhat diluted. Schools will reopen. Stores allow pick up. Construction work can keep going "minimally", whatever that means. Ski stations are still open, "but only during the day", even though most of the contamination already happens during the day. It's not really a complete lockdown, it's half-measures that give the illusion of a lockdown. On the other side, you have curfews, which don't make much of a difference if people go about during the day. Not sure how I feel about this, it doesn't sound like these measures will have the impact needed.

But all non-essential companies stay closed, and there is a curfew from 8pm to 5am until February 9th

Poissonche 12,366
Aaaaand I work in a gas station, which are allowed to be open past these hours, since they serve other essential workers. The nights there are really about to get boring and creepy.

Are you allowed to watch stuff on your cell or something when it's quiet?

But lol i hope they allow me to bring my uni work now, nobody's going to come.

It’s a bit complicated haha.. Maybe they will still be open if they can be considered as essential!

Here in Ontario our lockdown is not as strict as Quebec's so we're definitely not closing Tbh our business shouldn't be considered essential during a lockdown but again I think u can technically classify us as a type of recycling even tho it's not standard recycling so it's kind of a grey area
