Guest Posted January 7, 2021 Share Posted January 7, 2021 This goes way deeper and it is rooted in mistrust that its consequences are erupting democracies not just within the US but in countries across the globe. What happened in the US today is a station yet to come for many other countries that are currently on that railway of its leaders purposefully seeding misinformation. Some countries are even further than the US where democracy has been eradicated. Removing Trump will not put an end to this I fear - it will incite even more radical actions. Forcing the other side to shut up is not the solution to a conflict that is based on dialogue. If you destroy the base there is nothing democracy can steadily stand on. One way we can help in this situation is by treating people and yourself with prudence. Educate yourself about democratic values. Stay interested in different opinions that may challenge or even trigger you. Diversify your knowledge about different beliefs.
