January 2 while housecleaning :)...and I distinctly remember dancing to A-YO with my vacuum cleaner :ladyhaha:  I like the album a lot, and the CD is on my car so I actually listen JOANNE often.

How did I dislike most of the album?

Just your taste. The comment you made  “It was actually hard to process as someone who'd been a massive fan for so long and loved everything up to that point.“ does not make sense. Gaga is a very versatile artist. On an album, we may be listening to a disco inspired song then suddenly drops to a ballad. I never expected for Gaga to keep making dance music. It is more healthy she makes a variety of albums like Joanne

As a whole, it was sometime during the first lockdown last year

I listen to some tracks regularly still though

I don’t really stream music, but I listened to the entire album this autumn. I also regularly listen to a bunch of the songs. I rarely listen to any album in full anymore.

Wow, you seem to have inferred a lot about me and my seemingly narrow taste. lol I love quite a bit of country and folk music, as well as a ton of other genres outside the pop sphere, which is something I greatly admire in Gaga too; her ability to meld with seemingly anything.

Most of Joanne, however, feels derivative and ingenuine to me. They sound like songs for a TV show or musical instead of legit songs. It's like she told everyone they were going to make a Americana/country album and went paint by numbers with it. Even her vocals sound too intentional and try-hard.

What I tried to say was from that quote I took, you said that it was hard to process Gaga bringing an album out like Joanne. That shows that you don’t understand Gaga. Gaga was bound to bring out an album like Joanne. It was an album she needed to do.

Once again, you misunderstood. It was hard processing that I disliked a Gaga album as much as I did, not that she made the album. Yeah, it'd been obvious that she would do an acoustic album. I always looked forward to one, but not one so half-assed

Also you really can't say she "needed" to make this album as it was. You don't know her or understand her outside of what she lets you see, none of us do. In a year she could say she doesn't remember this album too.

Tbh, In my opinion we needed to see a different side to Gaga and she created a creative album like Joanne which is full of songs that not mainstream type of songs at the time.
