German politician SNAPS at far-right covid deniers

German politician Ursula Nonnemacher (Minister of Health in the German state of Brandenburg) is currently going viral for SNAPPING at far right covid-denying politicians in the state parliament. This is her roughly translated speach, the things in [brackets] are context that I've added for better understanding

 

"Before I start, I have to express my disconcertment. Representative Miss Bartel, what are you even talking about? Tomorrow we have to relocate 51 (covid-19) patients from Lausitz and Elbe-Elster to Berlin [because the hospitals have reached its capacities due to the influx of covid-19 patients]. And not because people are croaking from a heatwave. You have to stop denying that Covid even exists, i really can't bear to hear it anymore. Go to the south of our state [the southern part of Brandenburg currently has to triage patients and one of the highest infections rates of all of Germany, along with one of the highest current mortality rates]. Talk to the district administrators, the hospital directors, the doctors or nurses who are at the frontlines. Maybe then you'd know what is actually happening here. Some district administrators are thinking about declaring the state of emergency, some even think about having to file a case of disaster. You don't have a single clue what you are even talking about. I am so freaking fed up. You too, Dr. Berndt. You never worked in a hospital, you never worked in an emergency room. You never saw patients arriving that can't breathe anymore. You have no idea what it is like to see your patients suffocate. Some organs can fail and you can hardly notice it, but when the lungs are failing and patients can't breathe anymore, you see the terror in their eyes. This is what we have to fight against, this is what people in Southern Brandenburg are fighting against right now and I hope that no other hospital of this state ever has to fight that fight. I am fed up always being bombarded with faulty projections about case-by-case-lethality, excess mortality being normal or what "experts" like Dr. Wodarg or Prof. Bhakdi think. Mr. Berndt, you are a dentist and a NAZI. You are capable of correctly quoting Goethe, which is not a given considering what political party you belong to, but that's about all you can do."

I wish we had someone like her in my country (Romania) to shut down every COVID denier because honestly I am SICK AND TIRED of the idiots from here still taking this like a joke when there are people in hospitals literally fighting for their lives against this disease.

Regardless of your own political ideology, everybody should be united in tackling the far-right and stupid conspiracy theories. I don't know much about this politician, but I applaud this speech and the message she is giving.

One of my many pet peeves of politics. Parties contradicting themselves for the sake of being able to criticize the opposition. They ALWAYS do that
