TaylorSwift 162,283
Health officials in Ontario said on Saturday that two confirmed cases of the new coronavirus variant first detected in the UK have appeared in the Canadian province. The cases, identified in a couple in southern Ontario with no known travel history, exposure or high-risk contact, came as the province went into a lockdown on Saturday. “This further reinforces the need for Ontarians to stay home as much as possible and continue to follow all public health advice, including the provincewide shutdown measures beginning today,” Dr. Barbara Yaffe, Ontario’s associate chief medical officer. source A third case of the new COVID-19 variant first discovered in the United Kingdom has been found in Ottawa. The Ministry of Health said the person recently travelled from the U.K. Ottawa Public Health has informed the individual who is now self-isolating. source https://store.taylorswift.com

Stupid Oreo 14,669
You know that I have given up? weed 78,870
Ok it’s scary bc they have no known travel history, meaning someone else who prob has no symptoms gave it to them and potentially many others

I’ve had severe depression for most of my life yet I have no need to not be in lockdown. In fact i’m extremely happy about it because now I don’t have to serve people at my workplace who are dining in. I now get to be safer & still work. The situation is literally more dangerous now and this is the moment you feel “f*ck everyone else, how I feel is more important”? Do you have friends or family you could face time with or a hobby to distract you and help your mental health? Please do not put yourself and others at risk. GagaSine 7,464
So scary I really hate how irresponsible people are to travel right now. Almost the entirety of my mom’s family in Poland has Covid and there is a high chance she will not be able to see them again before they die, yet we would never think of traveling to see them. I don’t understand why people think they need to travel, outside of very special circumstances. I also wish the government would provide more relief, maybe a grant for landlords that participate in rent relief or whatever.

My fav aunt (my dad's sister) is dying of cancer and isn't expected to live much longer and it's unlikely we will get to visit Portugal before she passes due to Covid-19. My grandparents who I was supposed to see as well I have not and they too are in poor health Also I agree. With rents and evictions it's gotta be a two way street. Help people struggling with rents (especially if for some reason they didn't qualify for CERB) and protect them from eviction in these tough times... but also help landlords too because despite the stereotype that landlords are loaded investors that isn't necessarily always true. In fact because of how expensive real estate is in some Canadian cities we see many landlords actually live in the same house as tenants and rented out a portion because they could never afford a mortgage themself without tenants and without rent could fail mortgage payments. So landlords shouldn't be overlooked either despite the stereotype that they are fine financially and should suck it up. Also small businesses should of gotten a higher level of support. All this CERB money helps individuals now but it won't help them later if their employer goes bankrupt and they don't have a job to go back to. Mom and pop restaurants, hair salons and stuff like that in particular has been extremely hard hit and the help they've gotten has been extremely limited. They should have extended all this generosity to businesses as well Were already running a massive deficit of nearly $300 Billion in stimulus. For just a few billion more we could inject cash in specific businesses that are most likely to fail and it will make a huge impact on recovery if businesses actually survive. Cuz once a business is gone it takes time for new startups to take their place or existing ones to grow enough to absorb their capacity We should have learned from the 2008 crisis. When a downturn is severe enough to wipe out a lot of businesses (not just put pressure on their profits for a while) the economic recoveries after are way slower and harder. And the same is gonna happen again because too many businesses are gonna fail and new startups to take their place is literally gonna take several years

I mean, some countries and airlines require Covid tests before you go in and some even test on arrival. Travel has actually contributed to an extremely low amount of cases of Covid in Ontario. Not sure about the world but for Ontario, I dont think the people travelling are the main source of Covid. trolly troll troll
