Artists who grew on you

Taylor Swift won me over with Lover and folklore :tony:, I like some songs from 1989 and reputation. Also her songs Style , This love  and Delicate are the songs that I distinguish from the previous eras. I think my favourite song of hers is Daylight.

Ariana Grande - Love me harder and Into you are such good songs but I was paying attention to her up until No tears left to cry. Then sweetener happened :icega: It had some good songs but it was a let-down for me. TYN is very good album but positions is kinda meh I fell asleep listening to it so... :awkney: She has my attention though :teehee: My favourite song from hers is in my head and safety net

Doja Cat - Say So is a cute bop but I never really liked it that much. Then I gave Hot Pink a listen and found a couple songs I loved and saw her potential. Not every song she puts out does it for me, but she's a great performer and has got a lot of potential. She's also hilarious :ladyhaha:

Ava Max - Sweet But Psycho also wasn't my favorite, neither was So Am I. Then Torn came out, aka the best pop song of 2019 and I was hooked. It made me appreciate SBP and SAI more, and then of course she released the absolute serve that is Heaven & Hell and as if that wasn't enough, she added My Head & My Heart to it as the cherry on top. Bop after bop after bop after bop. I love her now:saira:

Edit: Have to mention that my first impression for both of them was absolutely "meh" :laughga:

Kinda like Gaga, when I first heard Just Dance I liked it but I thought she was just another Britney Spears copycat and that she'd be a one-hit wonder. Oh how the turntables :huntyga:

Katy Perry. I was so caught up in the pathetic Appaluse/Roar drama in the 2013 that I didn't see how downright great of a performer she is. I wouldn't say I'm a stan but I love her.

Taylor for me.

I had 1989 on repeat when it came out, but didn’t consider myself a fan. I mean, the whole world was also listening to that album (so I couldn’t escape it) and I couldn’t get behind her image at all. When Reputation came out, her public persona was even worse, which really influenced me to think I didn’t like her, even though I really enjoyed some of those songs (delicate!). I then found myself causally listening to Lover way more frequently then I thought I would. When folklore came out, I was obsessed with the mood of the album. By the time evermore came out, I knew I’d like it before even listening to it. I literally woke up one day recently asking myself “omg am I a Taylor Stan?” I really liked her past 5 albums but for some reason couldn’t convince myself that I was an actual fan, but I guess I am! Lol

Lana Del Rey. For years, I didn't take her seriously. But she's become one of my faves. Lyrically, very few major artists have her depth.

The Weeknd. His darker, more L.A. sound didn't appeal to me, but his aesthetic has gotten more polished over time and his vocals have gotten much stronger.

Now that I'm thinking about it, it was most likely "Prisoner" that made me do a 180 on both of them. :oprah:

Little onionBoy

Little mix-

I thought they had some cute bops at first but now after watching a ton of live preformances and listening to their album (confetti) im becoming obsessed.

Rina sawayama-

I heard a few songs from her in 2018 but never listened to most of her discography, until she dropped the singles from sawayama. I'm a total stan.

Blackpink-

I didnt see the hype until "how you like that" then i went and listened to all their music and now i love them.

Charli xcx-

Didnt care for her music until 2018 when i listened to her vroom vroom ep and after that i slowly worked my way through her entire discography and love it all, even the mixtapes.

I definitely did not think, two or three years ago that, not only would we still talk about Dua Lipa, but that she would be living rent-free in my and the whole f*cking world's mind in 2020. She really went from "I could be the one" to "I'M GOING TO STEP ON YOU, HARD".

I absolutely loathe saying this, but Billy Eyelash is starting to grow on me :gum:

Let her grow, people like to bully her on here, but she's extremely talented. It makes me so mad how talented she is. Urgh.

I actually had no idea that GGD users were prone not to like her.  I thought I was one of the few.   I guess to put it more specifically, her music is growing on me, but I can not relate to her outlook on the reality of the world we live in (although I've become that way with Gaga as well I guess, and it doesn't make me like her music any less)
