Cancer caused by smoking doesn’t spread to others. COVID does. It goes way beyond a personal choice. I don’t see the similarity between the issues.

I do agree that there are inconsistencies in health and safety regulations, but we also have to consider the cultural elements which impact those. For example, it would be useless to outlaw drugs like tobacco and alcohol, or radical sports, or fighting championships. These are health and safety risks widely accepted by our societies, unlike the free spreading of infectious diseases.

PS: As I’ve said before on this forum, we need to quit trying to convince anti-vaxxers  of the effectiveness of vaccines with logic and reason. We should start showing them pictures of disfigured and dead children from measles, polio and other such diseases. If we don’t connect with these people on an emotional level, we’ll have to start burying babies again before they realize their stupidity.

His comparison to cigarettes makes zero sense. We have a mask mandate for people to wear a mask when in enclosed public spaces just like people aren’t allowed to smoke in those public enclosed places or places where people are squished together like a stadium or otherwise. I can’t believe these people claim to be critical thinkers & then completely overlook the critical parts. Sharing ignorance is not the same as sharing a difference in opinion. Also, those deaths are labeled as COVID deaths because COVID combined with their underlying illness is what killed them. That person wouldn’t have died if they hadn’t caught COVID but because they did it killed them on top of the underlying illness. Ffs.

I feel sorry for her, truly. She’s such an addict that she has issues with needles.

What the hell is "spiritual growth". The fact he says we should promote that over science and medicine tells me all I need to know, typical Hollywood cosmic, he probably thinks yoga and bubble tea can cure it because a spiritual medium told him once or some crap.

Not everyone who has doubts about the vaccine is an anti-vaxxer

This is extremely irresponsible. I hate when people conflate being punk to being against absolutely anything the government does, even if it's based in facts and/or it's something objectively good. If you don't want to get the vaccine just because, with no real medical reason, then you should be considered a public danger. Period. There's no way around it. The same goes for people who constantly look for stupid comparisons saying "wEll If No X tHeN wHy Z?" or embrace alternative, unproved medical procedures over peer-reviewed and facts-based hard science. And not only is the tobacco comparison pointless and untrue, it also mistakenly assumes governmental decisions are always agreed upon with the scientists, which is not the case at all, and also conveniently ignores the addictive nature of tobacco, which makes it impossible for some people to just stop smoking. Overall, ignorance at its best.

I mean yes of course it's not the same as vaccines but it didn't look like he was telling people not to take the vaccine to me... just talking about the hypocrisy of that industry

Yeah I didn't see that either but tbh the post was so long that I rush read it so I figured maybe I missed whatever part she implied it in :enigma:

At this point she's just plain stupid. There's no other explanation.

demi is the only celeb i actively and unapologetically hate on lol

everyone else i try to keep it jokey or stick to valid criticism. but not miss demi.

not only does she insert herself into issues that have nothing to do with her, but everytime i see her say something, she’s either annoying, rude, or both

genuinely cant stand her

This post did not come across to me as anti-vaccine - in fact I picked up absolutely no sense that it had any underlying message as being anti-vaccination. It just came across as pointing out inconsistencies with where priorities are.

Demi also didn't say anything about vaccinations in her comment. She just said he had good points - and he does.
