Is the world more homophobic now than it was before? It feels like you have to be a very masculine man to be able to be accepted when wearing a dress, the double standards never stop  :saladga:

It's either...

A) He's hot
B) People took it as a joke
C) He did get some hate

Get the pinot ready, because it's turtle time.

I really dont know. I think because Harry has been more vocal about being opened to experimetn new things, and to regender certain aspect of our society, so its more "dangerous" to the one that are more conservative about the topic.

I'm sure he did get sh*t for that :neyde:

If anything the hate is just more apparent now bc of the internet and social media being ingrained into society

Probably because this was 1999 and trashy people didn’t have a platform to express their opinions. The internet is a gift and a curse.

Pennywise

He was the epitome of a "masculine man" and thus got a pass. It always comes down to that.

So long ggd, it was nice while it lasted.

Ricardo

it was 1999 and the gp wasn't exposed to the concept of gender, he was just a man in a dress, his intention was not to make a statement about gender

Maybe that’s true the internet ruined it

I remember my sister having a poster of him and I would open her room, glance at it then run to my room to Dance In Circles. God he was perfect

IDK what the context is behind Brad wearing a dress, but from the photos alone, it looks like it was meant to be taken facetiously.

Brad isn't also LGBTQ+, unlike Harry. So when Harry wears a dress, it's not only about self-expression, but it's also a statement. And unfortunately, people are uncomfortable with that.

Also though, I've noticed a trend recently...Whenever something's brought up that's pro-LGBTQ, pro-BLM, pro-feminism, pro-pro choice on social media, I see a lot of the comments play "devil's advocate" that vehemently oppose those stances. It's like, people are choosing to be homophobic, racist, sexist, etc. just for the sake of looking intellectually superior on social media. It's ****ing annoying.

I remember it being talked about on shows like Entertainment Tonight etc, but for sure it’s the internet and social media that makes things seem bigger than they are.
