Some of y‘all have to see Haus Labs and her Music as two different things. Its that easy...Don‘t know what this has to do with „bling, not the music“ or „industry puppet“?

For me a Industry Puppet are much more people like Ava Max, Dua Lipa etc... As much as I love them, the industry has the full control of them, so many collabs, special edition and era milking.

Its unfair that Gaga isn‘t allowed to have a Brand (which hasn‘t to do with her music in general) just because she once said „music not the bling“. It doesn‘t mean that she has a brand that she isn‘t passionate about it. Y’all have to leave your bubble

The shade I saw for Haus Labs, voce Viva and the Oreo collab... Its funny how nobody complained about the apple collab for example. I haven’t seen any “bling, not the music” comments there :huntyga: y’all are just hypocrites and come up with that boring a$$ „music not the bling“ argument when it fits you

one truism about many Gaga fans is that they will latch onto things Gaga says and then use those words against her for the rest of her career if they think she has turned from their ideal picture of her.  It's like those toxic relationships where you have a partner that is constantly using your past against you.   I mean some are still using the "I'll never be seen without heels" comments or her early comments about not liking California against her lol.

She needs to have her critically bulletproof artistic moment in music soon.

Then, she is free to do whatever she wants.

But I still think that she haven't activated her true musical potential yet.

Also, yes, her legacy is secured but I want that legacy to have chapters that are consist of total artistic freedom, musical invention and certain intellectual capacity.

So far, she is looking backwards and is in defensive mode.

This has to happen organically though, not with the intention of making that era happen.    The only way a truly "critically bulletproof" artistic moment happens is if she does it on her own terms, that is what artistry really is.    First she should feel free to do whatever she wants, THEN she might get one of those artistically defining moments.   Or maybe not.  But she shouldn't try to invent that moment intentionally, it never works that way.

I have a feeling though that many fans would probably end up hating what she came up with, because honestly after Chromatica I won't be surprised if she is done with the traditional pop route.

Honestly, some of you just need to become K-pop fans.  Those people are doing everything you want, and often way  more creatively than American artists at the moment.  If you are looking for the standard bearers for big money corporate driven pop with well defined and funded eras, They are doing it.

She probably is over with music and mostly just doing it for fans. It gets old for artists and I love that she is into acting more right now and expanding her business and brand. I'm happy for her.

The thing is, what Gaga said in the past, and the way she said things made her fans believe everything she said. You have to remember that back when all this happened Gaga and her fandom were considered as a cult. She was the leader and everything she said was religion to her fans. It was all part of marketing psychology that at the end of the day got us hooked to her and her every word. That's why its so conflicting. I don't know if you remember but she did a whole campaign around ARTPOP that goes against all she is doing/becoming now. So I am sorry but I do not agree with blaming the fans all the time. Yes some do over react but it is only fair to be disappointed by someone who you looked up to.

I personally don't care about the heels or California comments, but I was a sucker and believed her when she campaigned 'music not the bling' only because I felt like she was being genuine and cared about the music and nothing else, now I feel like it's a different story and seeing how she is treating her music, I am becoming very indifferent towards her.

I agree with this! It really is a type of brainwashing whether done intentionally or not...for almost 10 years I pretty much worshipped her, as if she was this spiritual leader of God or something. And I gotta say that culture is extremely toxic and will backfire...got to the point where I couldn’t even appreciate what I enjoy about enjoy about her, it was painful for me too because she was my life for so long! I guess my message to others would be take what inspires you and what you enjoy and leave the rest. We are all human, Gaga is human, we are all one. Do I wish we had gotten more this era? Sure, but I’ll take what I enjoy about the era and leave the rest! I have my own life, and her music to me is what I play when I want to feel something in particular.

I also agree with what you have just said! Do I miss the artistic side of her and the amazing performances we used to get? Yes I do as hell. Do I need to take it to heart? No. At the same time I cannot say that the whole thing isn't disappointing/sad however at the end of the day it is what it is and there's no point in dwelling or fighting over it as the ball is in her court ....

Aren't the people who complain that she's some industry shill the same ones who want her to pull Taylor Swift sales numbers and be on every single red carpet and book every single event possible? If you want her to be the AAA pop star that she is, this is how you do that.

I feel like a side effect of stanning so hard is thinking you own every little piece of her success or output, so you have to pass judgement on the extra-curricular **** (that she's been doing since 2009) because it's not catering directly to you. She's one of the biggest names on the planet - she's not just a musician who releases music and nothing more. The music's excellent, so enjoy that, and just drown out the other stuff that's not really for you.

Exactly! There is nothing we can do to control it. And there is also a lot we just don’t get about the industry. I miss BTW + ARTPOP so much, it was an awesome time for me as a kid and I found so much inspiration through her, but it gets to the point where whatever inspired you you gotta take with and run. At some point we gotta grow up and live our own lives rather than live through a pop star we don’t know, in a way it’s bitter sweet. I remember my room was full of Gaga posters, I’ve had one up all year and I just took it down last week. In a way though I enjoy her so much more now than I did the past few years because I’m not constantly exposed to her

The thing is that Gaga could quit music tomorrow and we would have to deal with it. I think it's better for our sanity not to have high expectations from her anymore as she clearly will do whatever she wants from now on.

I think people are misunderstanding something like Haus labs.  If someone is looking for a reason to denigrate her then they will call it a "cash grab" and something that goes against "music not the bling."   If you see Haus labs as a genuine interest of hers ( which seems obvious to me) then it is not in "violation" of "music not the bling" but just another of her passion projects and desires to try new things.

I just dont understand the argument that she isnt doing anything music wise, she just released an album? Her last music video wasnt that long ago and there are evident teasers for the new one, she performed at the VMA's 3 songs, she did that live stream chromatica live dance party thing, she is still keeping chromatica alive even if it is with instrumentals on her sing it with oreo and now the 'random' leaks. It seems like she is just doing a lot of stuff inbetween, what should she be doing? Wether we like it or not the pandemic has effected how she can present the music as she clearly is all about performing for fans and the 'energy exchange' more than any artist ive seen to date, in terms of how much it means to them rather than the sheer amount of it.

Basically, her album is still alive and kicking, she isnt doing a Rihanna.
