Earlier this month, Trevor Wilkinson was suspended for violating his schools dress code, which stated that he was not allowed to wear nail polish. He was given an ultimatum, and he refused to take off his nail polish. In response to this, he was given an in school suspension. Trevor called this a "complete double standard". He has since launched a petition that has garnered thousands of signatures. Staff at his high school have declined to comment.

America, where school shooters are defended but some nail polish will get you suspended!

Where you can by firearms in supermarkets, but suspend school pupils for expressing themselves :rip:

The Fame

At first I was wondering if EVERYONE was banned from wearing nail polish, but it looks like it's only male students? That's so stupid and discriminatory. There are WAYYYY bigger issues in the world; why even put so much effort into policing literal children painting their nails? Why do they even care in a world where they now have to do active shooter drills, suicide is on the increase, there's a global pandemic, etc?

These rules are so dated and ridiculous... I remember back when I was in high school, I almost got in trouble for wearing a fake piercing once. Meanwhile, girls could run around in low-rise jeans with their thongs showing and the headmaster didn't bat an eye... (It was the 00s, y'all) I also remember my sports teacher giving me **** regularly, for reasons I probably didn't even quite understand myself yet.

Thank God I was shy and less outspoken 15 years ago, otherwise I would have ****ed some **** up and got into loads of trouble :toofunny:

If he's at a public high school he should immediately sue. It's breaking his first amendment rights to self expression, and he'd probably immediately win.

REALITY

Just signed the petition :hor:

Absolutely stupid that they suspended him for that. There are more things to worry about than guys painting their ****ing nails.

Bonkers

He should remove the nail polish.

Spoiler

Except the middle fingers which should be red.

Spoiler

I'm joking of course, he should do whatever he wants with his fingernails.

Is this a LGBT issue? Because I thought painting your nails was a huge fashion trend nowadays among all men, at least where I am (European country).

edit: it’s funny because as conservative as one school/western country might be, I’d never guess that painting your nails would take you further than the bullying from your peers :smh:

Dress Code shouldn't be a thing at all

Everyone should be able to do everything they want to with their own body

And schools and places like are telling people from the youngest age that they need to look a certain way to be accepted

Dress code is good for schools because it helps fight classism between children, but just for uniforms. Not nails???

chaeri pls

This is only news @27monster27

This is an update from 4 days ago

A Texas high school student suspended for painting his nails says he’s no longer being disciplined but will continue to speak out until the dress code changes.

Trevor Wilkinson’s story garnered national headlines after the Clyde High School student was issued an in-school suspension.

The school district will host a special meeting where they will discuss the issue, but Wilkinson says he will continue to speak out until there is change.
