Coronavirus was found in Italian boy, four, in November 2019

But how is that possible? This virus is highly contagious, there's no way it spread back in september in Italy but didn't very quickly cause hospitalisations and the like. Is there a possibility there was a less contagious strain back then? Or is it likely that there's mistakes in the antibodies tests used for these discoveries?

Corona viruses have been around for many many years. COVID-19 is just a new strain never saw before in humans

True, but isn't the OP/article talk about Covid-19 specifically?

Isn't this very old pre-pandemic news? The first news I heard of Covid was in 2019, too. Australia were even taking precautions of it end of 2019/January 2020.

That wouod explain how there was a few different strains of the virus... but how did it actually start?

it started in a wet market in Wuhan, China sometime in Q4 (maybe later Q3) 2019. They had several live animals of different species stacked on top of each other, spilling bodily fluid on the cages below. A SARs virus jumps from one species (probably a bat) to another (maaayybe a pangolin??) and then to a human.

This has happened before in China because these wet markets are extremely dirty. Top health experts knew that a dangerous virus could easily mutate out of this one in Wuhan, but China let it go unregulated. It was not a matter of if, but when

And of course, there's now tons of evidence that China ignored the virus for a long time, or at least kept it secret.

I hate Trump more than anyone on planet Earth, but the international community should really hold China accountable for this virus, especially with mounting evidence like this.

It's likely that deaths were misdiagnosed as pneumonia back then.

But we know this virus spreads exponentially. So slower at first, and then skyrocketing. So we wouldn't expect massive hospitalization immediately.

This explains why Italy was one of the first European nations to have massive exponential spread, soon followed by most other nations.

It is implied but I am not sure if testing is picking up other Coronaviruses

I feel like one day we're gonna get to the bottom of this whole thing but that won't be for awhile.Who knows how long covid-19 has been around

it couldn't be too much longer than this though? cause of how easily it spreads

I mean OBVIOUSLY it did not just arise in February/March :air:

It must have been around for some months... and if you believe it or not but my mom and brothers all were very sick in the end of December 2019 WITH loss of taste. Was degraded as „the flu“ though but for sure not
