The point is in a racist society, everyone is born racist TO A DEGREE. Obviously you're not a KKK member or even a casual boomer racist.

This conversation is over

To you. To me, she didn't even come of as CLOSE to being angry, so I was genuinely startled at seeing this comment thrown at her, and so were some other people. We reminded people of the stereotype of the angry black woman and asked people to think about wheter or not this implicit bias motivated their comment or not. Great if not. Still important to think about.

Tbh if the posts were worded this way from the beginning, as a question rather than a provocative comment/accusation, I think the thread would have taken a different turn.

The first comment (not from you) being "not y'all trying to paint a black woman as angry :fail:" just riled people up and put them on the defensive, myself included. That type of post is not conducive to a healthy discussion. :bear:

I can only hope you work on your close-mindedness and realize you're making a victim out of yourself when you get so defensive about something entirely non-malicious that wasn't even a call out.

Sadly y'all cant make the difference between a SJW white saviour calling out and cancelling VS someone bringing up genuine concerns about oppression.

This is not some kind of cancel culture moment where I call you problematic and then say "gotcha". This is me telling you you might want to think about the implications of your words. If you realize you are indeed bias on that topic, then just move on and do better! If you are genuinely not biased, then great! There's a way you can say that without critizing us and getting defensive. There's no point in getting defensive when you're not even being accused.

Im sorry but i dissagree not everyone is born racist

True, that's maybe not the way I would have worded it cause it does seem more like an accusation

I think you’re turning this into something it isn’t, but you’re entitled to your opinion.

Which is the whole point of my argument : if it isn't what I think it may be, then perfect. No need to defend yourselves if you're clear, cause this was not an accusation.

I'd LOVE for you to tell me when I was shady. Because it does sound like you're projecting.

Never mind I see that continuing this “conversation” is pointless. Yikes.

Everyone in western society (or at least America/Canada/Western Europe) is born with implicit bias.

As a gay man, I literally thought gayness was gross until I was gay.

If that's not bias being pushed on us by society, I don't know what it is. And it applies to race too.

I could link you the experiment where they ask children to pick the pretiest person between a black and white person if you still don't believe me.

For all of you idealists, color blinds and bias-deniers...

Experts ultimately have the last say. You not realizing the existence of your implicit bias (which... is pretty much the point of them being IMPLICIT) is no proof against any of these phenomenons.

You bringing up the stereotype when it wasn’t mentioned or associated with the comments made and this very thing you keep doing by asking other people to explain how what you did affected them, playing devil’s advocate, being defensive from the beginning for no reason saying everyone is racist and you’re just looking out for everyone with their best interest at heart just in case someone was about to be racist is literally projection
