Sorcerer92 837
Here in North Carolina, it has finally started blowing up in the rural areas; traditionally areas where it has been seen as a hoax and non event. I'm so glad my county and town have taken the necessary precautions, even going so far as to cancel the cherished illuminated Christmas parade. It sucks but I'm thankful there are some sane people among the Trumpers
OBEY 57,109
And people were saying "more people die from other diseases in a year!!!"

I get kind of livid when people bring up the flu statistic. If people were a little more sympathetic, it would be recontextualized as "why are so many people dying of diseases that could have easily been prevented?" 3 points in and ready for more
WORLDofGAGA 2,274
What precautions and rules have been put in place in The US to reduce the spread? @W0RLDofGAGA

As far as I know, nothing federal. California has started to re-implement "stay-at-home" orders (per each designated region) if ICU capacities go under %15, I think. A few counties dropped below this weekend, so it's going into place. Some are also doing it preemptively. 3 points in and ready for more

ThisGuyTony 34,918
Just a few weeks ago the mask complainers were saying, “COVID is only the #3 killer so blah blah blah.”
Chic 20,830
This is really sad. This is why I never go outside and wear a mask every time I go out. I believe that people with heart disease are more susceptible to dying from COVID. When someone who has a preexisting heart condition gets COVID and passes away, would the heart condition(s) be seen as a contributing factor of death? Because COVID generally kills quicker than heart disease does, does it 'take away' from the amount of people who would be categorized as a death from heart disease? We know COVID can kill fast, especially if you're dealing with preexisting conditions. I'd be interested to see if heart disease deaths have gone /down/ slightly in this time, because COVID ended their lives quicker?
vyniildisk 12,689
Crazy. I used to think back in february that by May the virus would be gone.
