Connection Error: Positions

Ariana Grande has become one of the main forces of music-industry; an deniable truth but as an Artist 'Positions' has some major issues - more precisely, it doesn't have any kind of appeal.

IN MY OPINION.

I had tough time to connect with 'thank, u next', but I don't feel any connection with this album. The songs are bearable, but for me not replay worthy. Creative direction to promotion - I don't feel like we are having an AG- 6 era. (Covid-19, Duh).

Are you having the same connection problem with the new album of Ariana? Or, just me?

I never listened to her albums in full except Dangerous Woman, only the singles, but I feel like her music is very unpersonnal? Like she only sings about her exes/sex/guys, I never learnt anything about her while listening to her music, am I right?
That must be hard to connect with her through her music

She had created some enjoyable songs, and yes I do struggle with make a connection with her songs... maybe this time she absolutely failed the attempt.

I feel like songs like no tears left to cry and get well soon are genuine and tied with personal life events (for obvious reasons..) but overall her songs tend to be extremely surface level.

This one is about anxiety which Ariana struggles with, especially with what happened in Manchester.

This one is about tragedy and how she felt after Manchester

This one is dedicated to Manchester, that's why its 5:24 long.

It has virtually 0 commercial appeal, but it isn’t a bad album. It did take some time to grow on me after a few listens, but now I appreciate it for what it is. I can understand why people aren’t feeling it though, especially since we were all expecting more smash hits.

At this point I prefer it over TUN, which was the one I couldn’t find a connection to at all.

Strung out for another taste

I think the instrumentation being mainly strings just isn't hip at the moment. But that doesn't make the album any less beautiful.
