Contessa 1,879
Since we are at it I’ll make this one too. The bridge and “electric devotion” being removed should be an actual crime.

Ziggy 10,896
The demo instrumental it’s so good. I just love that it’s *so* retro and throwback. I like it’s inherent sadness (which I know she didn’t want hence the final version, but ya know). but it’s good we have both versions, then!
weed 72,066
Demo 100% the official is still amazing, but the demo is something else
PartySick 149,136
I actually like the demo better. The production is more unique, it's longer, and best of all, I like that there's no dance break. It just goes from "Imma free woman! BE. FREE." directly into the next verse I'm just like 🧍♂️

TimisaMonster 31,073
Demo...especially because of that bridge, the bumping 90s house beat production, and the lyrical delivery is better...its got more energy than the awkward official version Stream my new single, 💜"Heartbeat"💜, on Spotify! Why did they change it I think she wanted to it to be triumphant and carefree (since it was written for trans women on some level?), but yeah idk...I loved the melancholy of the demo. It was *very* specific and something I think would have given the album greater texture. My lone chromatica critique is its polish. I think if you’re going to do 90s house music you can’t clean it too much and maintain its spirit.

Bloodpop mentioned in the interview that he was sending demos to different producers and in the end Gaga agreed on those versions. It's Bloodpop'v vision of a pop album mainly. If this album were executive produced by someone like Fernando Garibay or RedOne, they would’ve done the sound of the 90s house more justice than BP. The final versions sound too clean and polished.
