The whitest list I've ever seen. Does Billboard hate black women? Except for Cardi an Selena.

Like Rihanna, Alicia Keys or Beyoncé don't deserve it more than most of the women on that list.

Beyoncé should’ve gotten it in 2016, idk why Madonna is there? Can someone enlighten me?

Name please? With regards to actual presence and influence, Cardi is on top of her game right now.

She’s also been crazily politically involved.

She is influential. Deal with it.

Yeah, I'm not a stan and even I get this. She's killer :lolly: she and Gaga need to do something together at some point too :grr:

Literally. I've only heard of it because Gaga got it in 2015 :ladyhaha:

It was 2015 right? I remember we got some TIHTY promo with it :tony:

Yep I think that was a weird year for her to win but I didn’t know about it before that either.

It's lowkey fitting imo. She was working with Biden and the people from the Hunting Ground to tackle sexual assault and was showing off her chops with performances like the Oscars. That's also the year she really started acting.

Her personal stances and versatility is why I'm a stan so 2015 was a good year :sis:

Not surprised by this; I figured either Cardi or Megan would get it this year, since they've had a constant, indomitable presence music-wise lately.

Outside of the music scene, I'll agree that Gaga's work on raising $$$ and awareness for the COVID response fund had possibly the most positive concrete impact on the world and 'the little guy' / people like you and me.

I am surprised the Bey, Rihanna, and Adele haven't won a year yet  Like, no shade intended toward P!nk or Selena AT ALL but I would think the three I just listed simply have had more impact both inside and outside of music than them. Again I'm not taking shots against them as people, they're just not the first names that come to my mind when considering which woman is the *IT GIRL* at any given time.

There’s way too many to even name.

Politically involved? I have to laugh.

I guess if making a song no one actually takes serious plus making a literal joke of yourself on social media and on top of that taking pride in drugging and robbing men in the past makes you influential, then so be it. Whatever.

Lmao the salt. Are you ok?

Sure, but also it‘s literally the year she was least active music and chart wise. She had a number 1 album in 2013, 2014, 2016, and the one year in the middle where not a lot happened music wise was the year? The award is for women in MUSIC, by the outlet that releases the OFFICIAL CHARTS, so you‘d think having released successful music and being present on the charts would at least be factored in in SOME way. That’s why it‘s awkward. Nobody‘s mad tho; a win is a win. But it‘s odd.
