Billie Eilish debuts at No. 94 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart (dated Nov. 21) with her new single "Therefore I Am," following its release on Thursday, Nov. 12.

In just that one day, the last of the latest Hot 100's streaming and sales tracking week, the song tallied 3.1 million U.S. streams and sold 5,000 downloads, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data. It also drew 11.7 million radio airplay audience impressions in its first four days, as the Hot 100's airplay tracking week ended Nov. 15.

"Therefore I Am" is likely to make further inroads on next week's charts (dated Nov. 28) after its first full week of tracking.

The exact same thing happened with Taylor’s Me! and I remember petty haters saying that she flopped because it debuted so low :air:

I don’t think there’s any other than she just releases when she wants. It’s not the first time she does this, and everything I wanted even got released on a Wednesday.

Chart positions imo aren’t really important in 2020, the focus is more on streaming now. Several of Billie’s songs didn’t even enter the Top 40 yet they have over 500M streams on Spotify alone, either that or she’s confident it’ll rise slowly to the top

If you’re big artists and able to accumulate enough streams on Thursday, by Friday you will be everywhere on playlists. Basically, the first day doesn’t matter if streams are stable.

Please ignore the spelling in username. I am a Beyonce stan afterall.

Reminds me of when people thought Rihanna was over because her label mistakingly released 20 minutes early on TIDAL. So it looked like her first week sales album sales were super low  Except everyone said she's was over.
