FfFfFfFF 58,120
Opposition candidate Maia Sandu has won Moldova's presidential runoff with 56% of the vote, the country's central election commission says. Sandu is in favor of closer ties to the European Union. Moldova's incumbent pro-Russia President Igor Dodon, who was given the explicit backing of the Kremlin ahead of the poll, won just 43% of the votes after 99% of the ballots were counted, according to the initial results. Sandu, who heads the Party of Action and Solidarity has promised to wage a fight against endemic corruption in the country of some 3.5 million wedged between Ukraine and EU member Romania. Moldova is closely linked with Romania, with the two sharing a common language. Romanian President Klaus Iohannis said he was happy with Sandu's first-round victory earlier this month. Maia Sandu's victory augurs well for "a clear decline in Russian influence," Iulian Groza noted for the executive director of the Institute for European Policy and Reforms in Chisinau. http://www.tellerreport.com/news/2020-11-16-pro-european-maia-sandu-wins-presidential-election-in-moldova.B1eAye2k5v.html, https://www.dw.com/en/moldova-election-pro-eu-maia-sandu-wins-presidency/a-55611249
palma 8,909
Hopefully more Eastern European countries to follow! I hope this won't herald a hard time for Moldova though, Putin is very reluctant on giving up on his influence. Is there some reason my LG7 isn't here? Has she died or something?
