Heaven & Hell by Ava Max

I never took a huge interest when Ava Max first arrived with Sweet But Psycho - it wasn't bad but not a song that really made me feel anything? And then So Am I came out and it just reminded me of Sweet But Psycho but with different lyrics.

Then I remember coming onto GagaDaily and seeing pretty poor reviews of her debut album, but didn't choose to check it out either way.

BUT, I accidently ran into one of the songs on a playlist and then suddenly decided to listen to the whole album and.....I love it! I think it's a great album. I know everyone has different tastes, but I'm pretty surprised looking back that someone said it was boring on here.

The production on the album especially on 'Heaven', 'Rumours' and 'Belladonna' sounds fresh and slick; the songs whilst sometimes sounding similar are super catchy and just great pop songs really. I'm not saying it's the most original sounding album, but it's a pretty good effort for a debut. I'm glad she waited till she had recorded more songs to put out her album.

I thought it was a good sounding album, I understand peoples critisisms tho. But me personally I think its very catchy and has a lot of replay value :lolly:

Where did you see "pretty poor reviews" of her album?

If I'm not mistaken, the thread for it was full of people being pleasantly surprised by how good it is :spin:

I think it is a good album, sometimes feels too long but has a lot of bops, and the only song i feel as a "fillers" is actually a really good one. I want more material from Ava, if she can follow the same path and create her own signature sound and image, she might become a main pop girl.

If you saw pretty poor reviews in this site is because, well, here they seem to hate every other female artist that is not Gaga.

Better Day

I enjoyed it.... the first 3 listens.
It suffers from the Katy Perry syndrome - music gets tired very very fast!

It's a solid first album! I feel like it would be HUGE if it was released circa 2009/2010 when pop music was emerging into dance-electronic...

She has a ton of potential. I think her team needs some work, AKA I personally think her art director(s) need cohesion since her rollout is all over the place... but she has great vocals, the production is stellar, and it's a fun album.
