Quartz 11,930
It's her acting. She's playing the media like how it's supposed to be played. She's not as 100% unfiltered anymore. She just does the persona she thinks can convey her current message most effectively. It'll get better as her nuances in acting in interviews get better. Inside, we are really made the same. đź•Š
Gagz 2,572
I do know what you’re talking about, but I feel like we can trace it back even further to late 2014/2015. It started gradually after Cheek to Cheek and AHS, and then I noticed it a little more heavily around Joanne. I feel like it became really noticeable between A Star is Born and Enigma. It’s something that I’ve noticed but I don’t really think about it. It probably stems from anxiety. Maybe she feels she has to amp up the theatricality more and more as time goes on? I don’t know.

The thing is, it translates into her performances too, which affects them negatively IMO. What made Gaga such a great performer besides all the drama and theatrics (and her voice), was her personality and attitude on stage, literally goddes-like a la Beyoncé. Gaga was intimidating on stage, I remember back in 2011-2014 I'd see Gaga perform and just be hooked, she was like a magnet and it was so fun and entertaining to watch her sing and dance and interact with the audience, but, nowadays, even Doja kinda ate her up at the VMAs. She’s obviously still a good performer, but to me she’s lacking the personality, the stage monster thing. Now I cringe when I see her live, it started during the Joanne era tbh, her moves, her face and hand gestures... everything feels too improvised and not in a good way. And it's all about her personality, not her as an artist, cuz she still is amazing. I love Gaga as a performer but yeah, she’s lost her spark lately in that category.

Bradley 58,227
Someone completely missed the Chromatica interviews where she said she was severely depressed in the last two years. Literally she said "I could do without the last two years of my life." in response to the interviewer saying her pain made her who she is today (aka her strength). She literally said that she's gone through so much pain that the last 2 years was unnecessary.

Also, her acting will improve too. I still find her adorable so I don't have any issues with this so far. Inside, we are really made the same. 🕊

PSYCHOSHTICK 2,625
I also saw it extremely much on this interview. I love her to death, but there is something going on with her hand gestures and way of speaking. Probably meds and trauma processing. It's okay though, it doesn't matter how she behaves, we'll love her anyway. The most frequent thing she does is pointing at herself with two hands while slightly shaking 'no' with her head, then point towards the other person and giving the 'gay finger' to emphasize her point or something. It's so funny. It's in the voting video, the Zane interview, MTV, republican-outfit-but-i-vote-for-biden-video, etc.
Galagala 4,587
Omg this is what I thought since ASIB. So many acceptance speeches sounded fake and looked a bit cringe. I can't finish watching her Oscars and Grammy speeches even now.
chromadica 636
As someone with trauma and pretty bad social anxiety, this seems quite normal and her way of coping with it all. She's made it pretty clear over the last few years how uncomfortable and unhappy her fame makes her.
SchwineLove 1,374
eh, i think we're over this? of course after monumental setbacks in the past affect her internally tremendously. just be grateful that she's sane enough and even imo will rise up stronger as an individual. TSUNAMI 20,669
I asked her if she's good in insta DM's. She didn't reply. I guess she is.
MOT 2,796
I make no comment on Gaga as a person other than to note that she has acknowledged publicly that she has physical and mental health issues. I hope she is managing them well and I send her my love. As for what she's like in interviews or when accepting awards, well that's performance (and that goes for everyone, not just Gaga). She's a performer, an actress. That's her art and her job.
